Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 We're starting to amass a body of great games here. What are your nominees?Mine would include - [list:16dspnlw]The Johan No HitterSteven Matz's debutThe 11-game winning streak's Thursday finaleDickey's 20th win[/list:u:16dspnlw]Among these, the Matz game is my personal favorite.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 A couple of other favorites:Dickey's one-hitter against the Phillies, August 14, 2010.Mets defeat Yankees on the night Rivera is "honored;" he blows save and loses game without recording an out. May 28, 2013---The no-hitter is still the clear choice for #1, I think. If they win tonight, maybe not.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 August 8, 2011, Mets score five in the eighth and ninth to take a back-and-forther with the Padres. Mike Baxter debuts with a pinch-RBI double in the eighth, leading to a fiesta breaking out among a huge contingent of ticket-holding Baxters and Baxter supporters. Offensive game starts with a leadoff homer by Pagan and ends on a two-run walk off grounder by Duda. Mets somehow survive gasoline-on-the-fire relief work by Pedro Beato and Ryota Igarashi.Starting for the Padres that day? New Met Tim Stauffer!

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Santana's no-no stands head and shoulders above anything the Mets have ever done at Citi, IMO. A post season classic could change that.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Was it Igarashi he was decrying in the Met fan movie?
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 You can add last night's game to this list.
