I got the idea that it was a game shot and the catcher was just offscreen.

Eggshell white seats represent the existential fragility of the entire Mets franchise at the time.

The number in the middle of the uniform, which I think I read somewhere was a mistake and they just went with it.

Lettering doesn't contrast enough with the base color of the jersey!

Yeah, he seems to have the full sidewalls on the mustache like Nino. That would place it in 1978, Kingman's best full season. I think it may be Mike Bruhert next to Nino.
