Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Joel Sherman says it's a done deal: Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson for minor league pitchers John Gant and Rob Whalen.Yay? Yay.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Sounds yayable, maybe just what the doctor ordered.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 It'll help (or at least it should) and at no cost at all to the team this year and no obvious cost long-term.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Sandy got the best player in the trade.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Danny Muno's Reign of Terror has ended, I'm guessing.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Two proven MLB hitters for a couple of middling prospects? That's a good thing. Now, who from the current MLB roster gets the boot? They have to send two guy off into space like Russian dogs.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Campbell can pack his bags, the 2nd is a bit tougher
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Uribe and KJ are batting .285 and .275 respectively and both slugging over .450. They immediately become the best hitters in the line up (Murphy is at .268 and no other current regular is over .255, and Granderson leads the team with a .422 SLG). No hitter on the 40 man roster has any numbers comparable to these two, except for d'Arnaud who is on the shelf.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Someone today was talking about d'Arnaud maybe by as early as the middle of next week.Between him & Johnson & Uribe this should be a better offense as we enter August. And, who knows, maybe Dabid shows up later in the month.Doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a Good offense, but it should be a better one.Now all we have to do is put out an APB for Lucas Duda and we might be in business.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Not so fast.As per ESPN-NY radio around 9:45 PM, the trade had not yet been finalized.More pieces?Later

But if he's the only one with a sub .300 OBP we should be alright. Of course, Conforto still up in the air, but you've got lots of moving parts and spot starts there too.
