Is it rain or something?I saw that. After the closeup they showed of the warning track "turf", I'm mystified. Do they sprinkle it with dirt?Ground-up rubber tires (and similar stuff). It's been used on turf fields for years, although lately there have been reports of cancer causing ingredients in those mini-pellets causing concern where it's used in playing fields for schools or parks.Wow.Re: Bad hitting teams: TruDat.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Wow. We double up Reyes around the horn! Tejada has been playing a very impressive 3rd base.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 We got to get to at least one of these Jays' relievers.... and so it begins.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Nice hitting Mr H. Lets get a few guys on for Duda. LGM!

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 We need to do something about that guy behind home plate wearing a wedding cake on his head. He's bad luck or something.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Shaddup Blue Jays. He was safe. I'm a little surprised, stealing there.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Awww. He's nervous. And possibly stupid. Get the DP Akeel!GAH! Come ooooon. A bunt. And of course we fall apart.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 The good news for Morris here is that he's recorded an out so will NOT have an infinite ERA.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Methinks Akeel Morris isn't quite ready yet. Good effort, rook. See you in September.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I feel for this guy. Could you imagine going from A ball to a Major League mound. I'd be a wreck. Ha, Ronnie says he feels for him too.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Well, our guys have been playing pretty good baseball lately, but I foresee no comeback here. 8-0 Bluebirds
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 We're going to need 10 here. You want an insurance run.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Oh. I didn't know about Doubleday. That sucks
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Well, Campy. You wouldn't've wanted the game without that.Guy doesn't seem to know if he's coming or going, and hasn't for a long time.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Hopefully they can get Akeel in again soon that works outbetter... felt bad for him, tough to imagine.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Great words from the guyz regarding Mr. Doubleday.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 In retrospect, maybe they should have taken advantage of the spot on the roster left by a vacating Nieuwenhuis and called up Verrett instead of Morris to begin with.Wouldn't have helped that much tonight, of course.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 It is funny where you've seen enough baseball to know that any pitcher can dominate any hitter on any night, and vice versa, but put a Jeff Francouer or a kid just up from the Florida State League onto a big league mound, and -- BLAMMO. No contest.

Or even just close an inning, get one out. And then send him down. But I guess if he messes up big time again, he's even more fucked up. Still, they put the kid on the fast track and then traumatize him. I know it's a business and all but still, you're dealing with people.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 When you think of garbage debuts, think of Akeel!
