Mayberry homered and doubled twice among a career-best four hits after not having a multi-hit outing all season to lead New York to a 6-2 victory.Mayberry started in place of struggling Curtis Granderson and fueled the Mets' 14-hit attack that leaves them 2-2 through four outings of a seven-game road excursion. New York improved to 9-17 on the road with their second away win in the last 11 games and also moved a half-game ahead of the Washington Nationals in the battle for first place in the National League East. Arizona first baseman Paul Goldschmidt homered in the opener and is a scorching 21-for-47 with six homers and 13 RBIs over the last 14 games. Center fielder A.J. Pollock is also swinging the ball well with three straight multi-hit outings and is 10-for-24 with five extra-base hits over the last five games.TV: 9:40 p.m. ET, SNY (New York), FSN ArizonaPITCHING MATCHUP: Mets LH Jonathon (3-5, 4.42 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Jeremy Hellickson (3-3, 5.08) Niese has lost three straight decisions and five of his last six. Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Great.Muno had to do an "ABOUT FACE!". Do the Mets have a problem with Matt Reynolds?

Also not hitting well lately after a hot start. There's also the feeling that they'd rather keep him down until they've got a more permanent position open as opposed to bringing him up for just a (hopefully) short stint.Either that or there are some incriminating pictures involved, who knows!Tonight's lineup:Curtis Granderson, RFRuben Tejada, 2BLucas Duda, 1BMichael Cuddyer, LFWilmer Flores, SSJuan Lagares, CFEric Campbell, 3BAnthony Recker, CNiese, LHP
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Gary also indicated in the pre game that they are now (even moreso, presumably) actively trying to trade for IF help. If only Gee and Niese would stop sucking long enough to punch their tickets to Palookaville.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 We gotta stop getting these leadoff men on - it ruins any chance we have of scoring.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Wow, nice play by Niese & Duda. Esp Duda, with Jon's wacky throw.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Cuddyer with the KABOOM! Is he allowed to do that?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Nice 1st for Niese. On that bunt he looked like he was moving with more urgency than I've seen out of him in quite a while. Cuddy looks like he's swinging the bat just for the sake of swinging a bat. HA!, & then he homers.CudBOOM!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I am Cuddyer. Hate me all you want. I feed on it.

I didn't like the signing, but I don't dislike the player.Oliver Perez got booed loudly last night when he came in from the bullpen. In his home stadium. By fans of the visiting team 2500 miles from home. That's hate for a player!

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Campbell is 0 for his last shit-ton. Need a hit or a run scoring out here.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I prefer that Niese makes the errors himself so he has no one to blame but himself. I don't want to see him getting all pouty tonight.Bad read Flores.Campbell....finally...THANK YOU.2-1 Mets
