Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 At Kong's request I will attempt again to start a new IGT win streak. Tomorrow's first pitch is at 4:05, the Dark Knight against A.J "Ass Juice" Burnett. I like our odds.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 The Pirates, meanwhile, have been selling t-shirts with Burnett spelled out in the shape of a bat.Apparently he's a big batman freak but, whatever the case, it looks like Saturday afternoon will be an all-bat affair on the mound at old Fort Duquesne and probably a lot of bat attire in the stands from fans of both sides.Hope the Mets remember to bring their utility belts this time. Six singles last last night ain't gonna cut it.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Are all Harvet igt's claimed, didn't know.Nah, get in there quick after a loss and everything is up for grabs...NY Mets at PittsburghWhen: 4:05 PM ET, Saturday, May 23, 2015Where: PNC Park, Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaSportsDirect Inc.Matt Harvey has not allowed a run in three of his last four starts and takes a 16-inning scoreless streak to the mound Saturday when the New York Mets visit the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second of a three-game series. Harvey won his first five starts to open the season but is winless in his last three despite back-to-back overpowering performances.Harvey could be making his last start on his normal rest - manager Terry Collins on Friday said the team will be switching to a six-man rotation when Dillon Gee comes off the disabled list next week. Opposing Harvey will be right-hander A.J. Burnett, who appeared ready for the scrap heap following an 18-loss campaign a year ago. Burnett is enjoying a remarkable renaissance with Pittsburgh, allowing two runs or fewer in all eight starts. The Pirates won the series opener 4-1 for to earn their second victory in eight games while sending New York to its fifth straight road loss. TV: 4:05 p.m. ET, SNY (New York), ROOT (Pittsburgh)PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Matt Harvey (5-1, 1.98 ERA) vs. Pirates RH A.J. Burnett (3-1, 1.38)As good as Harvey's numbers are, they could be spectacular if the Mets had produced more than a combined four runs over his last three turns. He settled for his second straight no-decision despite blanking St. Louis on six hits over eight innings on Monday, which followed seven scoreless innings of three-hit ball in his previous outing. Harvey gave up two runs over seven innings in his lone career start versus Pittsburgh.Burnett also has been victimized by a lack of run support, with the Pirates managing a total of total of seven over his first five outings. Burnett continued his stellar campaign by winning his third straight start on Sunday, blanking the Chicago Cubs on three hits over seven innings. Burnett is 5-9 with a 4.18 ERA in 24 career starts against the Mets, but he has surrendered only eight earned runs in eight turns this season.WALK-OFFS:1. Pirates 3B Josh Harrison has hit safely in nine straight games.2. Mets 3B David Wright and C Travis d'Arnaud both took batting practice Friday and are expected to play in minor-league rehab games next week.3. The Pirates have won 10 of the past 14 meetings between the clubs.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Harvey could be making his last start on his normal rest - manager Terry Collins on Friday said the team will be switching to a six-man rotation when Dillon Gee comes off the disabled list next week.Per Anthony DiComo:Collins said that when Harvey saw the news on Twitter, he marched into the manager's office to demand an explanation.I demand that Harvey shut the F up. Everyone knows his innings are going to be limited one way or another. Would you rather be shut down in mid-September, Matt?
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Wouldn't surprise me if they don't score runs for him again next couple of games he makes trade demands lol.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Jeeze. Alvarez almost puts one in the drink.3-0 Pitts
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 The dreaded double play rears it's ugly head and squelches another possible Met rally.3-1 in the 4th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Until this 4th inning I was beginning to get worried that we were going to go through the entire game without hitting into soul-destroying double plays or let their runners advance at will. Now all we need to do is fuck up some sac bunts and our standard trifecta will be complete.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 They should give Harvey the rest of the day off. He has zilch today.7-1 Pitts, 4th.

I'll burn him at the stake.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Oh there's no need to bunt in this game, but we should fuck one up anyway just to keep in practice.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 We should condense things and bunt into double plays. Nice throw by Duda on the 6-4-3-4 DP.Steve Gelbs makes an appearence.[fimg=500:28qcm7t0]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rJmjxFYhXDw/VWDx_YiHCtI/AAAAAAAAZmI/_bDVMnKtdeI/s676/SGsmugmug.png[/fimg:28qcm7t0]
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Not a good day for those who are/were supposedly staff aces.Harvey -- 4 IP, 7 ER, 6 H, 2 BBStrasburg -- 3.2 IP, 6 R (5 ER), 7 H, 1 BBSabathia -- 2.1 IP, 6 ER, 7 H, 1 BBThe only saving grace on our end in this is that this is an isolated case in Harvey's year (1.98 ERA coming in) but increasingly common in the cases of Sabathia (4.67 before today's game) and Strasburg (5.98 - and heading north!)
