Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 Sure, a day of would be nice. A day off ... in PANIC CITY!!Actually, Sandy missed his calling. Panic City would have been a great band name.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 A new manager in San Diego but same old story. Theirs may well be the corpse people start picking at most aggressively.Twenty-four hours later and the Mets' playoff likelihood (which should be plugged into this chart) is up to 29.9%. Maybe Quitkowski wants to re-assess.PlaceTeamWLPCTGBNGBSTRKGL10 WL10 LHEATDiv WDiv LPCTLg WLg LPCT1[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/WAS.png[/fimg] Washington4639.541L34612315.6054030.5712[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png[/fimg] New York4542.5172.02.0W25572315.6054038.5133[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ATL.png[/fimg] Atlanta4245.4835.08.0L36432121.5003741.4744[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIA.png[/fimg] Miami3651.41411.026.0L15541417.4523141.4315[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PHI.png[/fimg] Philadephia2960.32619.058.0L328-11225.3242554.316PlaceTeamWLPCTGBNGBSTRKGL10 WL10 LHEATLg WLg LPCTDIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/STL.png[/fimg] St. Louis5631.644+4.5+4.5L15544822.686DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/LAD.png[/fimg] Los Angeles5038.568+5.5+5.5W373104635.000DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/WAS.png[/fimg] Washington4639.541+2.0+2.0L34614030.5711[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PIT.png[/fimg] Pittsburgh5135.593W18294130.5772[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CHC.png[/fimg] Chicago4639.541L26444133.5543[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png[/fimg] New York4542.5172.02.0W25574038.0004[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/SF.png[/fimg] San Francisco4443.5063.04.0W12833840.4875[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ARI.png[/fimg] Arizona4243.4944.07.0L16453740.4816[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ATL.png[/fimg] Atlanta4245.4835.011.0L36433741.4747[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CIN.png[/fimg] Cincinnati3945.4646.518.5W15563436.4868[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/SD.png[/fimg] San Diego3949.4438.530.5L628-43538.4799[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/COL.png[/fimg] Colorado3749.4309.537.5W24663639.48010[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIL.png[/fimg] Milwaukee3751.42010.545.5L17363042.41711[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIA.png[/fimg] Miami3651.41411.050.0L15543141.43112[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PHI.png[/fimg] Philadelphia2960.32619.0130.0L328-12554.316

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 19, 2015 Author Posted July 19, 2015 Amazingly, we exit that chilly series as... the hottest team in the division(?!) even after the Phillies have completed their sweep the Marlins.Coming on strong is San Francisco, edging back ahead of the Mets and sitting one game off the pace for the second Wild Card slot, currently held by Chicago, but I've got no faith in them. Also making a minor run with a hot weekend is the previously disastrous San Diego, which may make them just a little coyer about dealing off parts.PlaceTeamWLPCTGBNGBSTRKGL10 WL10 LHEATDiv WDiv LPCTLg WLg LPCT1[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/WAS.png[/fimg] Washington4941.544L25532315.6054132.5622[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png[/fimg] New York4844.5222.02.0W17382315.6054340.5183[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ATL.png[/fimg] Atlanta4349.4677.012.0L23712121.5003845.4584[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIA.png[/fimg] Miami3854.41312.027.0L33701420.4123344.4295[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PHI.png[/fimg] Philadephia3262.34019.055.0W34671525.3752856.333PlaceTeamWLPCTGBNGBSTRKGL10 WL10 LHEATLg WLg LPCTDIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/STL.png[/fimg] St. Louis5834.630+4.5+4.5L14635025.667DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/LAD.png[/fimg] Los Angeles5340.570+3.5+3.5W27394937.000DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/WAS.png[/fimg] Washington4941.544+2.0+2L25534132.562.0001[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PIT.png[/fimg] Pittsburgh5338.582+3.5+3.5L36434333.5662[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CHC.png[/fimg] Chicago4941.544W25574334.5583[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/SF.png[/fimg] San Francisco4943.5331.01.0W673134340.0004[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png[/fimg] New York4844.5222.03.0W17384340.5185[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ATL.png[/fimg] Atlanta4349.4677.018.0L23713845.4586[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/SD.png[/fimg] San Diego4349.4677.018.0W44683738.4937[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ARI.png[/fimg] Arizona4248.4677.018.0L637-33745.4518[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CIN.png[/fimg] Cincinnati4049.4498.527.0L24623438.4729[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIL.png[/fimg] Milwaukee4152.4419.534.0W36493443.44210[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/COL.png[/fimg] Colorado3951.43310.038.0L25533841.48111[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIA.png[/fimg] Miami3854.41312.056.0L33703344.42912[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PHI.png[/fimg] Philadelphia3262.34019.0126.0W34672856.333
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 The big story, standings-wise, is San Francisco, who have rocketed past Chicago to take an unambiguous lead in the Wild Card and are right up the Dodgers' butts in the NL West.San Diego is also playing hot ball just at the time they are seemingly looking to be dealt out, so they may wait until later in this Mets series or even the last moment to consummate any deals they may have in place. Our last hot team in the division is quixotic Phillies, playing sweet ball seemingly as a glorious farewell to one another.Mets are suddenly looking at playoff likelihood of 49.2%. I'll take that.PlaceTeamWLPCTGBNGBSTRKGL10 WL10 LHEATDiv WDiv LPCTLg WLg LPCTDiv %1[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/WAS.png[/fimg] Washington5245.536L14632516.6104436.55060.02[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png[/fimg] New York5148.5152.02.0W24662417.5854644.51139.63[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ATL.png[/fimg] Atlanta4653.4657.012.0L14632121.5004148.4610.24[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIA.png[/fimg] Miami4158.41412.027.0L33701420.4123648.4290.35[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PHI.png[/fimg] Philadephia3763.37016.545.0W482121525.3753156.3560.0PlaceTeamWLPCTGBNGBSTRKGL10 WL10 LHEATLg WLg LPCTWC%DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/STL.png[/fimg] St. Louis6435.646+6.5+6.5W18295326.6716.9DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/LAD.png[/fimg] Los Angeles5644.560+0.5+0.5L25535241.00017.3DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/WAS.png[/fimg] Washington5245.536+2.0+2.0L14634436.5508.71[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PIT.png[/fimg] Pittsburgh5741.582+2.5+2.5W14654634.57572.92[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/SF.png[/fimg] San Francisco5544.556W691154641.52938.13[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CHC.png[/fimg] Chicago5246.5312.52.5W15564639.00043.14[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png[/fimg] New York5148.5154.05.5W24664644.5119.65[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ARI.png[/fimg] Arizona4751.4807.516.0W35584148.4612.06[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/SD.png[/fimg] San Diego4752.4758.018.0W373104141.5001.17[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ATL.png[/fimg] Atlanta4653.4659.023.0L14634148.4610.18[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CIN.png[/fimg] Cincinnati4354.44311.035.0L23713743.4630.19[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/COL.png[/fimg] Colorado4255.43312.042.0L14634043.4820.010[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIL.png[/fimg] Milwaukee4357.43012.546.0L35523547.4270.011[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIA.png[/fimg] Miami4158.41414.059.5L33703648.4290.012[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PHI.png[/fimg] Philadelphia3763.37018.5104.5W482123156.3560.0

I fail to remember every year. Not to worry. In July, NGB's are beyond meaningless. But to illustrate, Miami, the 4th place team in the East has an NGB of 27. That's because the Marlins are 12 games behind the Nats, 10 games behind the Mets and five games behind the Braves. 12 + 10 + 5 =27. There you go.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Thanks...that makes perfect sense.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 Not only pulled within a game of foist last night, but gained a game in the Wild Card on both the Cubs and the previously hotter-'n'-Hell Giants.Strangely, the Phillies are a last-place juggernaut right now. Five in a row and nine of the last ten, but still sit comfortably at the bottom of the league. They sure are breaking Toronto's spirit, though. The Jays had neither Reyes nor Tulowitzki on hand and had to make their stand with Ryan Goins at short as they fell 32.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 The Mets sit in a virtual tie, technically a half a percentage point behind their vanquished rivals. The Washington Post, of all sources, has called them "baseball's most interesting team."Chicago, nonetheless retains the title of "the NL's hottest team," having gone on a nice little tear to tie the Giants for the second Wild Card spot. Also notable is the Phils, who lost yesterday, but have been a burning flame, full of desire since the All Star Break. It shows you how deep a hole they dug for themselves, when you consider that all that burning has only gotten them within 2.5 games of no longer being the worst team in the league. Ouch.PlaceTeamWLPCTGBNGBSTRKGL10 WL10 LHEATDiv WDiv LPCTLg WLg LPCTDiv %1[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/WAS.png[/fimg] Washington5449.5243L33702720.5744640.53562.52[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png[/fimg] New York5550.5238W36492717.6145046.52137.33[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ATL.png[/fimg] Atlanta4758.4488.016.0W12832224.4784253.4420.14[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIA.png[/fimg] Miami4362.41012.028.0W13741522.4053852.4220.15[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PHI.png[/fimg] Philadephia4165.38714.538.0L18271826.4093457.3740.0PlaceTeamWLPCTGBNGBSTRKGL10 WL10 LHEATLg WLg LPCTWC%DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/STL.png[/fimg] St. Louis6738.638+5.5+5.5W11925629.6599.6DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/LAD.png[/fimg] Los Angeles6045.571+2.5+2.5W44685241.55913.3DIV[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/WAS.png[/fimg] Washington5449.524+0.0+0.0L33704640.5355.31[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PIT.png[/fimg] Pittsburgh6143.587+4.0+4.0W17384836.57169.0T2[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CHC.png[/fimg] Chicago5747.548W564115140.56053.9T2[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/SF.png[/fimg] San Francisco5747.548L14634742.52838.24[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/NYM.png[/fimg] New York5550.5242.55.0W36495046.5216.35[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/SD.png[/fimg] San Diego5154.4866.517.0L17364543.5112.66[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ARI.png[/fimg] Arizona5053.4856.517.0L27354148.4611.67[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/CIN.png[/fimg] Cincinnati4756.4569.532.0L15544145.4770.18[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/ATL.png[/fimg] Atlanta4758.44810.538.0W12834251.4520.09[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/COL.png[/fimg] Colorado4459.42712.552.0L14634247.4720.010[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIL.png[/fimg] Milwaukee4462.41514.064.0L528-33652.4090.011[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/MIA.png[/fimg] Miami4362.41014.568.5W13743852.4220.012[fimg=25]http://www.kcmets.com/CPF/PHI.png[/fimg] Philadelphia4165.38717.093.5L18273457.3740.0
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 Not only do the Mets seize sole possession of first place, but the Giants score one in the 12th, and then give up two in the bottom of the inning (error by Brandon Crawford, two-run walk off homer by Andonis Garcia), thus losing a hold on that second wild card spot to the Cubs, who have been delayed forever in their game with Pittsburgh this evening.
