Our week long celebration leading up to the one year anniversary of our heroine's return to the Mets offices following her maternity leave is brought to you by our newest sponsor, Tiparillo Cigarettes, former TV sponsor of Mets games on WOR-TV back in the '70's. TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 As of today's win, the Mets are 21-6 (.778) against sub .500 teams and 6-15 (.286) against teams above .500If my math is correct, they play 26 of their next 29 games against sub .500 teams.Eventually, they will need to learn to play with the big boys...but for the next month, I look forward to them beating the crap out of the second division clubs.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 and in that time, hopefully we can have a net positive in injuries healed to injuries acquired. d'Arnaud should return, who knows, maybe even Wright. It'll be closer to the trade deadline with more time to get another bat if need be, and time for prospects or fringe guys to step up and be contributors. It's a good time to be playing the lesser competition.

It certainly seems like they have been worse. But it's June 2, and they are tied for first. Syndegaard on the mound tonight against a guy with a 7+ ERA. Things could be worse. And I hope to see Mr. Bump in September as well.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 That last line? Absolutely nothing to write home about. Just a post-script note, for measurement's sake. The firstplaciness? Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Technically, the Mets are in second place. They're .002 percentage points behind Washington. If things go well tonight, then maybe we can write home tomorrow.
