Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Nice redemption for Ishikawa who had to feel like shit after mis-judging that 1st inning hit
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Wow, what a finish.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Just about all the games within each of the series have been really tight and mostly well-played, but in total the combined six series have only gone a total of 3 games over the minimum.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Good news: should be a fun WSBad news: no baseball until Tuesday

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 It is high... It is far ... It is .... GONE! A home run for Steve J. Rogers! I "Rogers" That! Rogers -- over and out! Oh, Suzyn...

Every column was a ludicrous trade proposal designed to benefit his childhood team, the Dodgers. He eventually returned to the West Coast, where he truly belonged.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Strange that such a big game should come down to a pitcher you really shouldn't want to use unless you have to against a batter you really shouldn't want to use unless you have to.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Pretty cool that Bochy wins it by going against the culture and pulling his closer for a specialist, and Mike Metheny loses it by sticking with the culture and keeping his closer on ice in a tie game on the road.

Every column was a ludicrous trade proposal designed to benefit his childhood team, the Dodgers. He eventually returned to the West Coast, where he truly belonged. How many times did he try to convince us the Mets had to pull the trigger on a Strawberry-for-Mike Marshall straight-up deal?I always expected this, c. 1987:Dwight Gooden to the Dodgers for Alex Trevino. Gooden loves the high mound at Dodger Stadium. He would benefit from the change of scenery. Trevino no stranger to the pressures of New York. Great defensive catcher, capable of giving Carter a blow. Met staff plenty deep enough to withstand loss of Doc.That's the thing. Spencer would have made the swapping of an ace pitcher for a backup catcher sound totally reasonable. One of the reasons I fell in love with Howie Rose, so to speak, is he referred to Spencer's columnizing as "California dreaming".
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Great post season games so far. It'll be hard for the actual Series of the World to measure up.I loved Bucks call:"The Giants Win The Pennant!"x1
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Of the four teams left, this is the most intriguing matchup. The Royals, a team that hasn't woken from its dream yet, against a team that's been there 3 times in the last 5 years. Should be fun.Wonder how many KC fans said after the All-star game, "Great! Now we get home field advantage for the World Series!"
