Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 SCHAEFER METS PLAYERS OF THE MONTH, SEPTEMBER 2014The Schaefer Mets Player of the Month for September 2014 is third-time winner LUCAS DUDA. Lucas came on strong the last two games of the month to snatch the title away from Jacob deGrom. Duda hit four homers in September and drove in 16 runs. (.264/.381/.460)The Schaefer Mets Pitcher of the Month is also a three-time winner, JACOB DEGROM. In four September starts, Jacob was 2-0 with a 1.67 ERA and 38 strikeouts in 27 innings. The Schaefer Mets Relief Pitcher of the Month is CARLOS TORRES, for the third time this season and fourth time overall. He is getting dangerously close to Brian Stokes territory. Carlos pitched in 15 games in September, and was 3-1 with a 2.00 ERA in 18 innings. The Schaefer Mets Bench Player of the Month for September is a first-time winner, ANTHONY RECKER. It wasn't a big month for bench players. Anthony won with a mere 1.38 points (largely as a result of a pinch-homer early in the month), but that was enough to put him ahead of Eric Young (0.29 points), Bobby Abreu (0.17), Ruben Tejada (0.08) and Eric Campbell (0.04).Updated award winner standings, with this month's winners in bold:PLAYER OF THE MONTHDavid Wright 14Johan Santana 6Carlos Beltran 5Jose Reyes 5R. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Eveland finishes in the money. WHOO!
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Nice. Love the Recker card.---I also will now officially predict that Carlos Torres will be traded this offseason as part of the deal to bring offense to the Mets.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Is there something wrong with celebrating Eveland being the 30th best Mets of September of 2014? I'd be very proud!Bobby Abreu got 13 plate appearances, going .364/.462 /.364 // .825 but didn't figure in any run scoring.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 "All right, I shut down deGrom. Now you go keep up your end."--Terry Collins to Lucas Duda, one week ago.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 Torres's month of triumph is marked by a (fine looking) card that portrays his lowest moment of 2014, the walkoff home run he gave up to personal nemesis Kevin Frandsen.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 That Recker's a thing of beauty!Also, nice job on the card.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 The conspiracy theories are running rampant -- and deGrom just got his first endorsement deal as spokesman for Legitimate Beef. "Throw it on the grill when they won't let you throw from the mound."
