Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Matt Harvey is at the game according to the booth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Is it completely taking leave of my senses to ask, [bigpurple:2ogieyiw]WHAT THE FUCK?![/bigpurple:2ogieyiw]
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Yup, he supposedly posted a pic on his Instagram.Good thing for Matt that his current employer didn't have any engagements tonight. Oh...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 In fairness to Harvey, he hasn't been making road trips all year (hell, he had to fight them just to attend HOME games) which essentially makes him a baseball fan in NYC with his night free.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 The G's on everything Gatorade at the stadium have beenreplace by 2's. If that's not classy, I don't know what is.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Anyone know who is singing God Bless The Captain tonight?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Poor Ryan Webb being called in to pitch to Mr. Jeter with the bases loaded. How do you tell somebody to groove it?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Error.Somebody kill the official scorer.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Adam Jones (1-out, 2R 9th inning HR) & Steven Pearce (2-out, solo 9th inning game-tying HR) obviously didn't get a copy of the script.... or maybe they did because tying up the game means who-know-who gets another AB
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Sets Jeter up in the ninth, to succeed or fail.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 David Robertson: Accomplice
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Career walk off RBI lmfao.

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Tomorrow morning, Yankees fans wake up and realize that the team's not going to the postseason.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I see Verducci penned a "Tribute to the Captain" on SI.com. Part of me wants to read it because I know if will no doubt include "soft rain" types of phrases that will live on in infamy. But I really can't stomach it right now.

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Mets Matt Harvey spotted at Yankee Stadium for Derek Jeters final home game[fimg=755]http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1953328.1411694724!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_970/harvey.jpg[/fimg]Remember that thread JCL started giving odds on the likelihood of each Met eventually signing with the MFY's? Well, I'd bet anything that Harvey's already been fitted for his MFY uniform. He probably poses in it in the privacy of his own home, and it's just a matter of time before Harvey absent-mindedly wears it out in public, or even to a Mets game.Four rows behind the MFY dugout.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Takes a little shine off of Harvey.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Yeah, we're on that in the previous page. The problem is the headline. It's not like he was "spotted" like he was laying low. He advertised his presence on social media.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Considering the dog & pony show the Yanx had planned* to put on--Jeter pulled in the middle of the 9th, take laps around the field, all the past teammates meeting him at home plate ... hell, there could have been military fly-overs and phone calls from the President included for all I know--which probably would have delayed Baltimore's arrival in Toronto until about six minutes prior to game time this evening, maybe the way it did end was for the best for everyone, non-DJ fans included. I'd like to think that it serves as a reminder that real sports is better than the manufactured and packaged-for-sale insta-nostalgia shit they've been peddling for the last six months - but I tend to doubt any lessons were learned. (speaking of which, what happened to the ball he hit? I'd like to think the Baltimore catcher kept it).The only surprising part is that they didn't follow through with their plans after Robertson struck out Cruz for the 2nd out, but by then it was down to a one-run lead.* as revealed by Girardi after the game
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 This is the only picture I've seen. Is he wearing aKnicks hat?
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Well, at least he has a smidgen of sense.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 "Couldn't have scripted a better ending..." says MLB Facebook. Except a scriptwriter would have had this happen in the World Series, where the Yankees won't be going this year largely because they've been carrying the deadweight of a shortstop past his prime and his traveling circus all season.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 It was a pretty dramatic ending. Should be in-teresting what the Yank/Sawx fan ratio will be this weekend Seems like everyone is saying they're going to Fenway.
