Wright even received some MVP voting in 2010. Must be the shady and mysterious defensive part of the WAR that's boosting his 2014 WAR rate to the point that you could suggest that 2010 is his worst season. And even so, his past WAR's are irrelevant to the claim that he's one of baseball's worst third baseman this year.Among the 24 qualified third baseman, Wright ranks 14th in AVG., 18th in OBP, 21st in SLG., 20th in OPS, and 21st in RC27. We're less than two weeks away from Labor Day and he's still on pace to hit just 10 HR's. You think this isn't his worst season?

You think this isn't his worst season? He's playing hurt, won't admit it and will continue to be in the lineup because he's a gamer. Even though the games are meaningless and he needs to get healthy for next year.Worst season? Without a doubt.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Yeah, I think it's pretty clear that this is his worst season. Hopefully he bounces back; he's signed for another six years!
