Gotta pinch hit for Lagares. And also Tejada. And Eric Young, too. And the pitcher.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Was hoping to see at least 8 pitches out of that Abreu at-bat, soften him up for the powerfolk.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Lot of 'almost HRs' from Cy Oung this year: either the almost-fair type or of the just-short variety.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Well that sucked. Not the game, my vow of silence. That was very difficult. The game bit the big one.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I thought from early on that Bartolo really didn't have it tonight but he turned it into a decent start.Pitcher Hitting Eighth resulted in three innings where Young lead off.Fun time at the park in those "Murphy specials" - 2 really-quite-good seats for $28 (total! Not each) - one of the best promos the Mets have had in quite a while.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Whatever inning that was where EYJ led off by bunting into an easy out was pretty regrettable.

And do challenges show up in the box score somewhere?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I think there was only one that I saw, very close play but to the Mets favor.I'm thinking not just of "winning" challenges, which any good team ought to do, but having a disproportionate number of calls overturned in our favor vs. opponents successfully challenging our gains away. That may just be my perception. but if accurate would confirm a longstanding suspicion that the Mets routinely get screwed over more than anyone.

Yea, the one at second was last night.I dunno JCL. I'm curious though. I think any fan that follows a team tightly and sees a lot of plays, or even just pitches, tends to feel like their team is holding the short end of the stick.
