Still got a good shot here if Roob gets on to start it.

This team is kinda tough to watch, man. He didn't get to that one in the gap, but watching Lagares track a ball is pretty goddamn joyful anyway. You know if it's gettable, he'll get it, same as when Cameron roamed. Wright, love him. d'Arnaud, hopeful. What else... um.... /drinks beer

Yeah, 16 or so K's in two games.
We'll get 'em tomorrow!

Pitcher friendly Citi is no pal of Barts. Phulewwy game.

Just seeing Lags come into his own and hopefully evolve as a hitter, that could be enough to keep me happy for a while. Course I want them to win more than they lose and already it's an uphill climb.

Not to say it again but if Colon gets that bunt down it changes everything.

That was just un-watchable.

I missed a chunk of the game including that. I'll have to check it out.

Very pedestrian outing for Bo Fat. No run support.

Is it possible to have a white Jason Bay AND a black Jason Bay?

Well, we were the first team to have black & white bobblehead dolls.

Had a black Chris Young and a white Chris Young. Black Bobby Jones and white Bobby Jones.

So yeah, bring it on.

That play at the plate yesterday shows me 2 things.
1)The rule is fucked up. It changes nothing except a players thinking.

2) Tejada is still thinking with his head up his ass.

I'm not convinced of (1) but am inclined to agree with (2).

I got frustrated last year in softball when 12-year-old girls approached the plate the way Tejada did. I have to think that I'd expect even more of Tejada than I would from a 12-year-old girl.

If he could have dropped his shoulder and made contact, something that I thought was no longer allowed (Gary today says it is okay to do that), then it changes nothing.

Is this rule for the handful of jerkoffs in MLB who would chase a catcher up the line just to clobber him? And before the rule wouldn't he still have gotten tossed for that?

The only thing the new rule says is that:
- if the catcher does NOT have the ball then he can't be in the baseline (cuz, if so, the runner will be called safe anyway)
- and that if the catcher is NOT blocking the plate then the runner can't hit him (cuz, if so, he's going to be called out anyway)

If Tejada is somehow confused by the rule then he has no one to blame but himself.

How come?

Fans love cold weekday nights after the thrill of
opening day has worn off?

I've been to so many cold April and May cold night
games I have no interest in putting myself through
it any more. I'd happily be cold in Oct and early Nov
if need be with bells on.

I'd say that the odds are better than 50-50 that the Mets won't be drawing much better on a Wednesday night in August.

How many people were at yesterday's game? Eleven?
