Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I'm hearing Mets wont reveal lineup until a Terry press conference at 945?? citing "complications."Big Spring Training Blockbuster??
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Intriguing...My guess/fear is that they're evaluating a potential injury to one of the projected starters.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 It could be like that year they got Mientkiewicz and there was a delay in presenting the lineups because the spelling took a few extra minutes.

But damn. I was never more certain that some kind of deal would happen before the curtain rose, but just didn't happen. Has it??? Drama
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Picking up wisps of smoke that Murphy may not be ready to go.

DramaIt is interesting that we've made it to Opening Day and neither Nick Franklin nor Didi Gregorius has been traded. (And, of course, Stephen Drew is still unsigned.) The lack of that trade you anticipated may be partially explained by the restraint in Phoenix and Seattle.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 EY plays second, Lagares in CF. Murph in delivery room.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Congrats, hope complications are not with the baby....
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 So things were delayed not by complications but by contractions!
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 complications can be such a terrifying word. i hope all is well, and that hte mets are merely doofuses at public relations.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Murphy's going to end up nicknaming that baby "Wally Pipp" if Young gets three or four hits. #accountability
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 She couldn't wait until the off day tomorrow?(Dodges flying rolling pin from wife)
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Word now is that Chris Young has the flu and won't be in the lineup. I guess that means Downtown Brown in right? Also, don't the Mets get to call up a paternity replacement for Muffy?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I think they do, yes. Flores, perhaps?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Oh, Young has a quad strain (of course) and "4 or 5 guys have the flu" Terry says.Ike starting at fist.So flu-like symptoms for Doodoo, Satin, Recker, and I guess a couple of pitchers.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 OK, I'll say it. Stade Olympique has clearly become a disease-infested sewer.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I agree. The flight may be a bit longer, but I imagine there are plenty of airline flights between New York and Las Vegas.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I'm thinking that, since the AAA season tends to open several days after the MLB season, the Mets probably have eligible replacements still in St. Lucie.Checking the schedule, the Vegans open at home on Thursday.

If so then, yeah, you could get a replacement in, but it would mean Muffy missing Wednesday's game as well.P.S. I suspect the minor leagues are still in Florida, not yet in Vegas
