Sportsouth is the biggest douchebag.

They're all dumb jocks.

I don't like it when guys appoint themselves cops but I also hate that the whole idea of sportsmanship has become something lame that your dad used to do, or something.

A few words from McCann to Fernandez and that would've been fine; they'll have plenty of chances to plunk him next season of course.

The correct answer is Johnson for the douchebag prize.

Did Johnson come out of the box slow, like he hit it out? I don't understand his involvement. All he did was fly out. What a doosh.

Fernandez was a bit dooshy in an immature way early on, but he answered back the best way possible, with his bat. Slightly immature doosh with a flair for the dramatic. I feel he did deserve to be allowed the look.

McCann is a doosh with big balls. I like that he said something. He rep's his team. It should've, could've stopped there. Probably would have if Johnson didn't run up like he was ready to rumble. Really, what a doosh. DING!

Johnson wins.

I thought McCann did more than simply say something. For a few steps, McCann was obstructing Fernandez's path back to the Marlins dugout. It was hyper-aggressive.

Watch McCann at the 3:47 mark. Also, don't know if any commentators mentioned this, but at about the 3:37 mark, it appears that Fernandez spit on third base as he was rounding that bag.

It was but it was all mouth. McCann was not going to touch him. No-one was. Even Johnson ran up and got directly behind the ump. It's all bullshit from that point on.

A non dooshyballed catcher would have found a way to say what he had to say to Fernandez without detaining him, but it's McCann. I guess it takes a full sentence for him to call someone bush. There was no obstruction. There was a clear path to the dugout. Fernandez could have kept going. He stopped to respond. He didn't have to.

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is sighing a little in a long line caused by avoidable salesclerk/customer error, and 10 is John Rocker working the Guy Fieri Celebrity Roast in blackface...

Chris Johnson: 6.7 (He didn't just walk over to confront the guy whom he had no business "policing"... he sprinted.)
Brian McCann: 6.1 (The obstruction is a pretty key factor in this thing escalating... and it's almost worse, in terms of douchebaggery, that it was all jawing/no punchy-punch. I mean, at least have the stupid courage of your convictions, Chaw-Cheeks.)
Jose Fernandez: 3.0 (He wasn't styling, or trotting... he was understandably agog at hitting one a mile out, and ran a little slow. Enjoying things isn't in-esse douchey. He gets some pointage, though, for whatever he did at third.)

In a vote on douchebaggery, I hereby write in Paul O'Neill. If you don't believe his was caused by 'Roid rage, just ask the next water cooler or light bulb you see.
Without the 'roids, he would just have been a flaming asshole without acne.

**sigh** I hate winter...

This is much ado about nothing, but someone should put a few baseballs in McCann's ear to remind him that he isn't baseball's policeman.

Oh, and for the douche factor, anytime a player puts on a Braves uniform, said player's douchiness is multiplied by a factor of 10...

Does that also apply to Kate Upton?

I never thought Ms. Upton was all that...
