What happened?Harvey was hit in the kneecap by a hard line drive. I hope it don't end up bad but I don't think he'll be doing any walking tomorrow.

What happened?2-out/2-strikes and on pitch #100, Rockie batter lined a shot off Harvey's leg (looked to be just above the knee) and the ball bounded on a fly out to short RCF for a single.Stayed in after a quick visit and one practice pitch, then got a pop out three pitches later for the final out of the game. I thought it was right on the knee cap. Nevermind.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 A pitcher is doing well if he can keep his average pitches/inning under 15.Harvey tonight had [u:3nio2xy4]no single inning[/u:3nio2xy4] over 15 pitches.

dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I was there! My first time at Citi Field, and I got Harvey's first shutout. I'm going to have to start coming to New York more often. Damn, he's good. Total control, beginning to end.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Awesome game. Bears repeating (no matter how many times it's already been said) how enjoyable having a player like Harvey is in an otherwise lost season.Seemed like a high fan IQ night; lots of applause for Flores' first hit, even before the scoreboard told everyone why.Super-cool moment when the Mets honored "The Immortal" Chris Majkowski as today is the 20th anniversary of his consecutive games streak (3,209). Cake presented on camera, scoreboard recognition, the whole nine yards.

I dunno, I re-watched that play and its really amazin he wasn't hurt worse. Watched the pitching side of the innings I missed and man, Harvey was simply excellent. Effortlessly. Aside from a no-no you couldnt ask for more from a pitcher. He pitched like an artist.
