Mex17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 http://metsblog.com/metsblog/jordany-valdespin-is-on-fire-at-las-vegas/#disqus_threadIf he keeps it up, does he deserve a September call-up? My answer is NO.Too much has happened and every single member of this team literally hates him apparantly. The best thing to do for his own good, and also for the unit, is to completely snub him even if he hits 1.000 the rest of the way. What say you?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 i doubt everyone hates him.Gotta do more than 45 trips to the plate though, but the BB and K rates are both looking nice. If he keeps that up, absolutely.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I don't believe that one person, particularly a part-timer, can so poison a clubhouse to where his presence overwhelms whatever he adds on the field (if he doesn't add anything ON the field then that's another subject). And what does punishing by "snubbing" him gain you? Is denying him that couple weeks at the end of the year really going to change him entirely? I tend to doubt it - so if there's room for him and a role for him then bring him up.If he is indeed so poisonous as to be more trouble than he's worth then getting rid of him is the answer, but that also means his radioactivity isn't a secret so don't expect much back.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Hell, why don't they just take him out in the desert and shoot him? It would be easier out there than, y'know, calling him up and doing it. AND, PLUS, HE LEARNS HIS LESSON ROOK

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I say we shoot him, THEN we trade him!!1!!
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 And Lucas Duda has been 0-13 (8Ks) in low A ball since his reactivation from the DL.Later

The difference being he's working on his swing and mechanics and will be promoted as the best, or second best perhaps behind Byrd, outfielder available. Valdespin actually needs to get better and earn a spot.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Valdespin is the PCL player of the week. Jordany responded by saying that he's humbled to receive such an honor and he's thankful to all the **********s who voted for him.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I've seen enough of Valdespin that I think he'll never be more than the 24th/25th guy on the roster. If he's already on the 40 then there is no reason not to call him up when rosters expand, but I wouldn't waste too many ABs on him. let him shuffle between Vegas and here as needed for a couple of years until he runs out of options and gets claimed (I wouldnt hesitate to expose him to waivers)
