Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Same Shit!: BB - K - K - KI can't remember the last fair ball to leave the infield much less be an actual hit
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Recker says NO CONTEST and walks away b4 the ball is in the catchers glove.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I don't know what Redmond is bunting for; the hits to outs ratio against our relievers today is like 6-to-1
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 I'd plunk Pierre after that homer ... just saying. Marlins are like,"can we just play the Mets all year?"
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 As in, this team inspires, at best, a muddle of tepid emotion in its devotees. Or, "meh," in today's internetty parlance.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 The sum total of the Mets "offense" following Wright's [u:ac1vx6a2]3rd inning/one-out[/u:ac1vx6a2] 2-RBI double: 8 Ks; 10 GOs; 3 Pop-ups (2 of them foul); 3 Fly-outs; 1 BB; and 1 infield single (which could have been scored an error)IOW -- 25 batters; 1 hit; only 15 managed to hit even a fair ball and only 3 of those left the infield - much of which came against a 27 y/o 18th round draft pick from five years ago with 6 starts and 55 innings pitched on his ML resume
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 It's funny (and not ha-ha funny) how the offense switches gears without going anywhere. The extra inning game was similar. They got eight walks in regulation, but couldn't plate anything. Then they utterly stopped walking in extra innings, but got eight or nine hits, but still nothing.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
