seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Starring Stony Brook's own Tom Koehler, who I'm assuming will be expected to go at least eight today.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Omar Quintanilla SSJordany Valdespin RFDavid Wright 3BDaniel Murphy 2BMike Baxter LFIke Davis 1BAnthony Recker CJuan Lagares CFJonathon Niese LHP
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 A one-one tie in the third. Lagares shows us the way with a 75-foot single.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Two men on and Quint gets a bunt single. The Mets first hit with a RiSP in the series, but produces no run.Directly, anyhow. The inning be young.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Two-run dubble, Rubble!Thought it would be three.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Prior to Wright's 2B, I was thinking the the last time I had seen stats on this sort of thing, the average number of runs scored starting from a bases-loaded/no-out situation was around 2.5 (might be a bit lower than that now due to the current lower-scoring era). Then I pondered where I'd put the Over/Under on this NYM team in that same situation even with the middle of the order due up. I was thinking about 0.7 or something and the Valdespoin pop-up certainly didn't help dissuade me from that. But then just as I started to type Dabid smacked the ball into the gap for the first REAL RiSP hit of the weekend (Quintanilla's bunt technically was but, y'know) and we wound up beating the odds with a three-spot.

But Ill take anything at this point.Real nice kaboom by Muffy earlier, and that mighta been 2 runs if Valde didn't have so much sac.I like that Terry had a lil chat w/him after that. Pretty inexcusable move to try and steal third there. I do hope he's learning.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Dominic Smith has a slight hint of Tyson lisp. Underscores the teenager in the man.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Hometown Dodgers originally picked Seaver.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Niese gets the hook with two on and two outs.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Niese gets the hook with two on and two outs.He was running out of gas. From 2002-i cant believe i made these that long ago. Man, time flies.>
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 The middle one was the one i really wanted to share, lol. And it dont show up. GahThe Mets refuse to tack on. Still 4-3
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 ahhhhhhshitwell, its not like I didn't know we would need more runs.Rice gives up his 1st homer of the season? Is that what Garr said? Wow. And bummer.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Damn. GJ recovering from that ripoff Lyon. Garys right and I hope Ronnie means it. That rule has to be looked into. In that situation why couldnt it just be called an automatic double play?OE: I understand how you cant assume anything, but still.Youk on to pitch for Miami

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Nice to see that, after the three run inning, they've settled back into their groove from yesterday. Not only no hits in a while but every out is a piece 'o shit pop-up or weak grounder. The home team should have about a 60% chance at winning this type of game which is why I put our chances at about 15%
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 15% was obviously way too optimistic. That my TV signal is breaking up right now might be a good thing overall.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 YES! And Ozuna, the last guy I wanted to see up.out 5-3. 4-4. Bottom of the 9th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 And Ozuna's avg against the Mets plummets to .987 as he ends the 9th on a grounder. The Mets now have a chance to put this away without the Fish ever getting up again so our win-odds just jumped to 21%

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 Not only can't Baxter hit LHPs, he can't even bunt against them.
