Secrets out: Austin Johnson really is a Met fan.

WaitWhat!? Gee starts the inning with a K and Shorty pulls him.

Buck delivered, sort of.

I strongly disagree with taking Gee out here.

If three straight LHBs weren't coming up (and five of the next six) I would agree with you. [ichiro, Gardner, Cano]

And as someone else just pointed out to me, Gees bumps are usually big bad bumps.

Thanks to Rice and Suzuki for causing Recker to take his mask off. Yummy.

Recks lost points from me for his profile. His nose does this lil snooty thing.

I would have left him in, he was cruising and don't ignore that they are burning rice's arm out.

If it gets to Cano with a runner on where he can tie it, THEN take him out

It DID NOT work perfectly, Rice could be unavailable or ineffective/tired tired tomorrow because of it.

If Rice isn't tired already from his workload this season he's never going to be.
And getting two consecutive LHBs on about 7 pitches in the 8th inning of a 2-run game by allowing neither to even hit a fair ball is virtually the definition of working perfectly as far as I'm concerned.

And now Cano can't be the go-ahead or even tying run.

Bowa on MLBN: 'Yeah Gee was OK, but the lineup he was facing is depleted and the HP ump was overly generous'

Talk about kicking a guy when he's UP

Really, though... It's kind of unfair to expect a struggling team to right the ship against a buzzsaw like Dillon Gee, isn't it?

No, indeed. I am exposing myself. Gaze upon me, world! I am a Metfan. I am unvanquished, untethered, unclothed, and beautiful and terrible as the dawn! Gaze upon me and despair!
