Ankiel makes what looks to be the 19th bad base-running decision of the series but gets away with it as the 3B ump incorrectly rules it touched by a fan down the LF line therefore a GR 2B

I appreciate that our announcers recognized that from the start and called the gift call for what it was.

Ankiel makes what looks to be the 19th bad base-running decision of the series

Yeah, I know you press when you're losing, but what's up with the Head-in-Ass disease?

I think that's just it, pressing. Terry preached aggression on the base paths this season so that's how it manifests. Plus after being able to run willy-nilly on Shelby Miller yesterday..

What was worse about that bunt by Faildespin? The execution or that he was called on to do it at all?

In the Latino community, the word we use is Valdespin.

JV seemed to be bunting like it's something he saw some guy do in a movie when he was a kid, but it was otherwise a culturally unfamiliar action to him.

calling on him to do it. first and third with one out. why. the fuck. would you ever bunt?

is there any chance he did it on his own? miss a sign? was it a squeeze play...? why would you ever...?

Hope someone asks him about this over asking about bat flips.

really?, so other teams announcers drool over other teams players too.

I bet they are usi9ng terms like "old school" , " line drive hitter", "perfect 3 hitter"

When the team has 15 hits in the series and Murphy has 14 of them (that may be a bit off but it's close) it's hard no to.

Well, I don't know if Niese is "fixed" but he's tossing a helluva game and deserves to have a shut-out to this point.

small sample, but the strikeouts aren't there yet. Gonna need more of those.

And how did Ankiel catch it so quickly?

Well, while the Mets have been generally tripping over themselves this series, he's been very difficult to get out. They're adding up that he's had more hits in a series against the Cards in a series than any player in the league, and then he makes that nice backhand play on defense.

They are not drooling over Ike Davis.

Yeah, good. Give Buck the save.

Nothing against Brandon Lyon, but I always get the idea that we're putting the game in Randy Quaid's hands.

Ike needs a wake-up call. Two weeks in sunny Binghamton (not SUNY Binghamton) might be the medicine.
