Yeah, good. Give Buck the save.

Nothing against Brandon Lyon, but I always get the idea that we're putting the game in Randy Quaid's hands.

Ike needs a wake-up call. Two weeks in sunny Binghamton (not SUNY Binghamton) might be the medicine.

Binghamton doens't get two weeks of sun in a year.

Muffy. 4-for-4 with a walk.

QUICK trade him for Shelby Miller before the game ends. And maybe they'll take Ike too if we just sneak everyone out onto the bus quickly after the game and not tell him.

Encouraging note of the day: No closer attempting a 1-inning/3-run save has failed to convert this season. They haven't always been perfect or even pretty, but 68 times in 68 chances the lead has held.

And for those of you who think I may be "jinxing" Parnell here, hey, I'm just here to inform.

We may have ourselves a professional closer, here.

Good game. I love MLB.TV for when you miss the beginning and can jump thru innings and catch up. Didn't see every pitch or even every half, but in an hour and 15 mins I arrive at the end pretty much when it ended. GJ METS!

Ankiel looked great going back on a ball today. Thing wound up near the track and was slicing away from him as it did but he not only caught up with it (and caught it) but did so over his shoulder and seemingly with no effort at all.
On the other hand he's already misjudged two balls in front of him in just a few games.

That one that popped out of his glove the first game, I give him a pass on.

At any rate, it's good to now Terry's assessment of Lagares is stronger. If he's not our best centerfielder, then there's no place for him on this roster.

But still, it was a poor read/break on the ball in the first place which caused him to need to dive. Similar to today.

But hey-- no Valley Fever!

This is no dilemma-- there's a surplus of OFs that are better than Duda in the field/IkeAhora at the bat. Lagares/Ankiel-or-Byrd/Baxter-or-'Spin in the OF. Duda at first. Ike working things out in the minors or in the cage.
