Pittsburgh trying to emulate New York, yet when they come to New York next week and see how the Mets introduce their players, they'll be surprised to learn New York doesn't do anything they couldn't do in Pittsburgh or anywhere else.

Well done, Buccos.

I do recall being at some Saturday-night games in the Benny Agbayani Era when the Mets opened the games with a Don Pardo "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!" thing. In fact it was Benny Agbayani-gives-away-the-second-out-ball night.

That's adorable, but wouldn't fly here.

We've got more of a Jean Doumanian-helmed '80-'81 season in the making; that opening sequence would work.

Thats excellent. I guess all the creative people aren't working in NY these days.

Did he get demoted for swearing?

I imagine Cowgill did his swearing after his demotion.

Au revoir, next big things of 1980 and 2013, respectively.
