Robert Carson, firestarter.

And of COURSE Byrd swings first pitch, then ends up grounding out.

Sorry not to capitalize on the bases loaded, but how many two-run rallies begin with two outs, bases empty and a pitcher at the plate who has never batted in the big leagues?

Took the words out of my mouth. I've never seen that before.

PSA for our TV announcers, who seem dead set on murdering me via words: the jumpthrow existed before Derek Jeter, and will exist long after Jeter, who doesn't even do it so great.

I vote with my remote. Goodbye Keith. Hello, Howie and Josh.

Yeah, nice work by Atchison but I'm not quite sure that I saw the point in taking out Carson with just one out to go in the inning and the pitcher's spot due to lead off the next half.
Now both are spent and there's still four innings (or more) to get through.

Kershaw vs Niese. My prediction? PAIN.

Sorry to Niese's ankle for this prediction.

Yeah, be more specific next time.

Murphy is playing some great baseball.

One debate that hasn't even come up lately is the whole 'can Murph hack it at 2B?' question. That one has kind of quietly been answered in the affirmative.
I don't know that he'll ever be great there, but he's certainly been good enough and if this offensive start is going to be something like his norm than he'll be more than good enough.

OK, so it turns out Lagares was hitting for someone else and not Atchinson so my above point is less apt, but Carson had still retired 6 of 7 prior to being yanked and had 2-out and none-on.

It was a double-switch.

Coach once told a story about getting hit by pitches. Does anyone remember this? It was freakin hilarious. I only remember the last line and how much it cracked me up.
