Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Buzz Bissinger's transition to full-on douche is just astounding. He spent a few hours last week cursing out people on Twitter in a lame attempt to "support" Lance Armstrong while also making a somehow noteworthy pronouncement that he will vote for Romney this time. I was mildly shocked that didn't come with a birthing/Muslim comment (or maybe it did).

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 This isn't something _I_ generally judge people for, but many do. Can people (Buzz Bissinger most recently 2 hours ago) un-sarcastically write "Baseball's classiest act" about a guy dating a 22 year old girl 16 years younger than him? Hannah Davis:You know, I'd let her break my ankle. Nightly.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 Donald Trump, as usual, thinks the Yanqui struggles are all about him. According to what passes for news in the NYPost, a story says that Trump is tweeting and yapping to anyone who'll listen that the reason Jeter is hurt and ARod isn't so good anymore is because neither owns property with him like they used to. Jeter completed the sale of his Trumpaholic place just last week.On to [u:192hrvpw]Game 3[/u:192hrvpw]Verlander is actually just 1-1 in 3 starts against the Yanx this season- took a No-Decision against them on April 27: 5 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits over 6. HRs by Rodriguez & Martin. Yanx won it walk-off style in the 9th- got hung with a loss at home on June 3rd: 5 runs (3 earned) on 9 hits + 4 BBs over 6.1 IP. HRs by ARod again plus Jeter leading off the game- before finally getting a 'W' on Aug 6th: 2 runs (both unearned) on 9 hits over 8 IP w/14 KsGuy needs to do something about his defense. Phil Hughes was 1-1 vs Detroit in 2 starts:- tossed a CG against Verlander in the June 3rd game, allowing just 1 run on 4 hits, 8 Ks & 3 BBS- then lost on August 7th, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits in 4.1 IPs and taking 102 pitches just to get that far. Yanx got two in the 9th off Valverde in this game too but fell a run short as Granderson popped-out with 2 on.I predict no Jeter HRs tonight.

He would've called up and had an usher take the two woman secretly out back to the clubhouse to wait for him. That's nothing. Whitey Ford used to beat off into styrofoam cups and hand them out to "lucky fans." Talk about getting a little piece of Whitey to take home with you, yeesh.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 ARod - NOT in the starting lineup for game 3Swisher - NOT in the starting lineup for game 3Eric Chavez to start as is Brett 'I haven't started since April' Gardner

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Hughes randomly developed a case of 'ouch', taken out of the game, but presumably added to the list of Yankees Yankees fans now detest.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 This game seems like the score should be greater than 2-0I hate games when I get that feeling because the game is really still on the edge even though I'm ready to prematurely put it in the Win column.

Verlander at 101 through 7. And seemingly less effective. I don't know how much longer you go with him.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 As long as he wants.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 As long as the Tigers hang on and win, I like that Opponent wastes every arm for Game 4 in pursuit of being 2-hit.Yes, I want a sweep.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 Verlander after ~110 pitches > Papa Fatty at 0 pitches

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 It's such an advantage to the Yanx to have an iconic SS on their side to make run-saving plays in the field and then hit HRs in the 9th inning ... Oh wait.
