I took a sickie from work today, because I had a dream last night that Dickey threw a no-hitter in this game.

One hitter won't be bad either. Aww, this kid is cute. Good broadcaster too.

It's like a ghost town,
In this IGT,
It's a ghost town,
Until the Mets learn how to win

You don't think there's any chance they leave this lefty in to face Hairston, is there? No? Shucks.

My bigger concern is:

And now in the 9th we'll have:
Torres - who hasn't had a hit in like a week
Shoppach - who'll almost certainly be facing a RHP
and the pitcher's spot which means either Cedeno or Bay

Oh joy!

No doubt, it's a fact head first into first slows you down. And that would have tied it. Big play.

You looked flashy Valde, and I'm sure that was your only concern, but you just cost us a run son. A BIG run. I concur with a hearty booo0000OOO!

What pisses me off is their inability to pull themselves together for one game to get Dickey a win against a pie-chucker of a pitcher.

and Edgin's poor fielding/decisions was part of giving up one. fundies and what not.

and now Rauch figures he's due to give one up.

Only way I could conceivably buy diving into first as a good move is if you dive (not slide) so that your fingers touch the bag before you could take a step. Touch to time precisely and you're pretty much doomed to go tumbling past the bag. Your legs are moving so much faster than your upper body, so unless you're physically propelling your upper body with the push off, it's just not going to work.

regardless, freaking run through the damn bag. EVERYONE knows this.

Other than the Torres IF single and the Baxter bloop double, I think the last time we actually got a ball out of the infield was about the 3rd inning.

They suck more than a black hole formed from the collapse of a star that consisted entirely of vacuum cleaners.
