G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Mets on 8/8 will attempt to win at home for the first time since 7/7. C'mon, honor the Kid.

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Stranding Giovanni Stantoni at second would be a good thing.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 And so it is.Edgy, Valdespin is in the 6-hole with Beans Baxter second behind Tejada. Seems to make sesne.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Well, at least Thole cleared the pitcher. Keep 'em close, Stretch, and Tejada starts the big rally next inning.Yeah, Mets! Woooooooooooo! LGM! YGB! Wooooooooooooo!!!!!(sits back down and switches to the Olympics, with the Mets in the little P-I-P window)
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Aaaaaaaaaaaand... it's 7-0. Stanton with his second HR of the game.I'm closing the little window. Marlins circling the bases are blocking the hurdlers.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Posting in this IGT made me feel like the guy I used to see on 57th Street near Broadway back in the early '80s who would stand out there in the summer heat wearing a leather bomber jacket and a canteen and sing opera.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Hey, a lead-off double! We're already on our way to stranding two runners this inning too!!

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Get this team a steak sandwich or something. I'm fairly certain they're anemic.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 oh yeah, there was a mets game on tonight. let me see how they did. oh.... i guess there was no game tonight afterall. [turns off internet]
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2012 Author Posted August 8, 2012 Goddamn, that was awful. What made it worse was TC before the game weaving excuses into his "what's wrong with the team, Terry?" answers. Something about injuries; something about other teams being good; something about we're in games, we're never blown out. Well, two of those three went by the boards tonight, and as far as injuries, shut up. This ain't 2009, that ain't gonna fly.Except maybe that an injury opened the door to Chris Young.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 That's 4 losses in the last 5, and to two of the worst teams in the NL
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I'll repeat what I said last night, for emphasis: this team that just took this home series from-- and threatens to sweep-- Los Mets just held an in-season fire sale and is looking ahead to next year.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 At least the evening wasn't a total loss - Thanks to G-Fafif for texting in that it was MK's birthday!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I guess the Buffalo shuffle stops running properly at mid season.Seriously, whoever runs this team next year, just do better, much better. People pay money to watch this.
