Our lefties don't stand much of a chance with the way the strike-zone is configured tonight.

Advantage: Hamels.

These days the way Wiggy looks reminds me of The Amazing Colossal Man.

Comon Duda. Cant let the pitcher score there on that. Fuck. And they take the lead back on the squeeze. GAH!!

Lots of hits for the Phils tonight even though they're not exactly smacking the ball all over the park.
Most of their hits have either found holes or been poorly played by our OFers.

Duda and Nieuwenhuis aren't reminding anyone of Mays and Clemente out there defensively.

Kirk's bat hasn't come within about 6 inches of a pitch tonight.

IF you want to know whose ABs a returning Bay should be taking ...

As of now, Duda's offense doesn't make up for his horrid defense.

Agreed FK: when Bay is activated, Nieuwenhuis goes--so long as Torres is OK (who else plays CF?).

Hairston can - even though I don't think it's ideal, he's passable out there.
But it's not like Nieuwy and Torres have been GG either.

There are thirteen qualifying players with a negative WAR this season. Two of them are batting fifth and sixth for the Mets tonight.

Jeez, what a play by Murphy. Sliding grab to his right, popped up and gunned the throw to Ike.

Josh Thole is tougher than a Tad's steak.

Nice play at the plate by Thole. He had plenty of time to brace himself. Phils booth says Hairball thru a grenade to the plate. lol.

It's not that Duda or Niuewenhuis should have gotten to any specific ball tonight, it's just that through late breaks, odd angles, poor reads, or various other less-than-perfect tactics they've failed to steal any hits away from the Phils (the way Victorino just did a half-inning ago to the Mets) or limit the damage to hits that have occurred.

And it's not like it's just been this game either.

I'll have to agree with you there brah.

Like the one I thought would have been a perfect opportunity for great diving catch, but it is Duda, and he wasn't close enough to say he "should" have caught it.

These are major league umpires, right--not teenagers doing this to make $20.

Parnell holds them, Papelbon gaks it up in the ninth. Have faith, brothers and sisters!
