Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 He's expendable because he's getting replaced by someone else. There's only 40 slots.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 (1) He's not being expended, he's being exposed. (2) He's being exposed because they need somebody else. (3) What he was then and and what he is now, as far as market value, isn't the same. (4) What he was exposed to then and and what he's being exposed to now, isn't the same, as far as risk.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 We're going in circles. He was an insurance policy. The Mets have hundreds of players in their system. Most of them won't play for them. That doesn't indicate a lack of a plan.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 This is ridiculous. He got on the roster the same way every 40-man player does, because he was one of the 40 best options at the time. Now he's not.

He didn't even play much, wasn't a part of the offseason plan, had virtually no chance to make the team this Spring. And they've been facing a roster crunch that entire time. Fine, he was an insurance policy. For what exactly? Like you said, hundreds of players in the system. They resigned Val Pascucci. They could've signed anyone else for minor league minimum if Satin got claimed in the Rule 5 draft. Insurance guys that far down the depth chart shouldn't be on the 40 man.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Any of us actually there tonight? Darren from the 7 Line just tweeted a photo of himself saying he'll be at the game with a "bag of free stuff." Someone find him and score me a KIRK shirt.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 This is not the best lineup of able Mets that could have been picked tonight.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Harper may only be 19 but he sure knows how to make a running catch look like a diving catch.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 talk about a boot.Error all the way Gary.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 There is a guy sitting behind home plate wearing a raiders t-shirt a little to the left who like like a forum member.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 I'd be shocked if Edgy was wearing a Raiders shirt, would seem to be out of character for him, unless he's trying to act the hard man at the park.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Gonna need another pinch-hit homer here Jordanny.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Nice basic baseball. Ike doubles, we plate him with 2 productive groundouts.4-3 them.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 The Byrd needs some help here.
