If Kendrick learned from Hamels, he'll say "That was an accident." He'd be telling the truth, too!

hah, he should say he did it on purpose, this way he can avoid having to get back on the mound and embarrass himself again.

Get the brooms!

First time at 5 games over .500 since July of 2010.

July 19th, right after the all-star break, on the way down after prematurely promoting Castillo and Beltran.

Thank you Mets for salvaging this night in my sports life. I almost wish I was going into the office tomorrow to see the MFP fan in the office next door. Tuesday, she walked in and said "I'm not gonna talk to you!" which was fine. Today, she avoided eye contact, as if I'd be less than gracious.

Watching highlights. Loved the business with the Phanatic in the booth.

Loved even more seeing them take my advice and pounce all over the Kyle Kendrick element in the Phils' pen.

The attendance for all three games was greater than listed capacity.
If the Mets keep playing the way the have recently, I hope some of that starts to happen at CitiField.

So I was exhausted last night and pretty much fell asleep on the couch immediately after turning the game on (with the baby in my arm, who also fell asleep) but thanks to Gary Cohen's excited voice I was able to wake up long enough to see most of the Mets run scoring. One of the most exciting games I've ever slept through.

When the Mets first started advertising Citi Field, they regularly referred to it as having a capacity of "45,000, including standing room." That number was quietly discarded as the actual seating capacity is 42,000.

The Mets have sold standing room tickets for only one series, the 2011 home series against the Yankees. They were priced at an obscene $45.

By comparison, the Phillies sell standing room tickets at $17, AND you can find a spot on the lower level behind the plate to stand.

they sold standing room this Opening Day too. so far they've only done it for premium games, but I imagine if they started selling out regular games they'd add cheap SRO too. And expensive ones when they finally make the playoffs.
