Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Back-end-of-the-rotation action happening as the Mets' Dillon Gee matches up against Ross Detwiler of the Nats.Expect Ike Davis to remain seated as Terry Collins unveils his plan to pace his firstbaseman with respect to that Valley Fever thing. Carlos Beltran was sitting one game in three at the start of last season and it was enough to drive you crazy, but things worked out nicely Beltran-wise, so I'm going to give Terry the benefit of the doubt on this one. Even if he is starting Justin Turner* in his place. *That's about two and half bills worth of OpS!
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 and I'll be there!Wonder if they sit Ike really, given he doesn't have a hit.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 If Ike is sitting I'd prefer Duda moves to 1B and Hairston starts over Turner starting.

Guest sharpie Guests Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Davis and Turner are roommates. Might not've said that if it was to give playing time to Ronny Cedeno or some other benchie.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I still think it was just "he". Turner's name was probably mentioned by the questioner, and when he responded he used the word "he".

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 10, 2012 Author Posted April 10, 2012 If the Mets had played these first five games half as sloppy as I've built the threads to follow them with, well, shit, we might be looking up from the bottom of a big hole.
