Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 ugh. I really don't want to see that tracked. the stadium is the stadium and I hope they're at least tracking the opposition too. It's not a CS in the box score. I guess it's just plain "out advancing". Would have to dig into the rules to explain exactly why it's not a Stolen Base Attempt if you start once the pitch has been thrown?
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Rule 10.07(h) Comment: In those instances where a pitched ball eludes the catcher and the runneris put out trying to advance, the official scorer shall not charge any caught stealing. The official scorershall not charge any caught stealing when a runner is awarded a base due to obstruction or when a runneris called out due to interference by the batter. The official scorer shall not charge a runner with a caughtstealing if such runner would not have been credited with a stolen base had such runner been safe (forexample, when a catcher throws the runner out after such runner tries to advance after a ball that hadeluded the catcher on a pitch).Seems like an interpretation, but I guess it makes sense. It'll look like a 2-1 (or 2-6) in the scorecard, but without the CS or PO it'd have to be the out advancing thing.

If so, maybe me and FK need new TV's. I dunno.

But that's more of a TV-placement issue than an SNY-bug bugaboo.
