Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 If there are enough bodies left around here and enough interest to do KTEs for the year this would be a good time to divvy them up.Ive long thought the best way is for one person to do all the series for a particular team or teams. That would mean six each if you choose an NLEast squad although the first one is the only one that really requires much work. After that you can just crib off your earlier report plus give updates on whatever has changed since their last visit and, in the case of FMan, come up with new cock jokes. So, can scare up 9 volunteers (or more?) to grab at least one team if not two?Our opponents for the year:- 6 series each: PHI, ATL, WASH, FLA- 3 series: Reds- 2 series Cubs, Pirates, Astros, Cardinals, Brewers, Dodgers, Giants, Padres, DBacks, Rockies, Yanx- 1 series only: Blue Jays, Rays, OriolesNo one should grab more than one NL East team just because of the volume entailed. We also like to give preferences to local knowledge so the Brewers are reserved for TransMonk if he wants them, our west coast correspondents get first crack at the California teams if they want in, and one of both of the DC area guys get dibs on the Natinals. And I guess Ive assigned myself Atlanta, but other than that the rest are up for grabs.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I would love to take the two Yankee series. I think that's the best vehicle for dick jokes.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I'll take the Rockies, D'Backs and Cubs, less'n anyone has any objections.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I'll take the Jays and Orioles to start.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Since I've been a Mets fan since their very first game, I'll take their very first opponent - the Cards.Later

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Hey, I didn't see a sign-up chart this year for the KTEs, which are always fun.Don't want to step on anyone's toes here, but I can put together the list for volunteers.I volunteer to take the June series against those win-less losers with the ugly ball park, ugly uniforms, high-strung manager and too-stupid-to-use-a-trampoline pitcher.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Oops! I somehow missed that last week! I can take the Astros series.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 People seem to be laying off the division rivals. We can team up on those.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 It's more fun when you share. That said... I'll cede the Cubbies to anyone who wants 'em, in exchange for Los Rays de Tampa Bay.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2012 Author Posted April 9, 2012 So the Cubs are open as are the Padres & GiantsAnd apparently no one wants either the Nationals (bmfc1?) or the Phils so those will become group projects if they remain unclaimed.PHI---=#FF0000]WASH---FLAGWreck=#008000]ATLFrayed KnotCINEdgyDCPITTEdgy DCCHIC---StLMFS'62HOUMGiMMILWTransMonkLADG-FaFiFSFG=#BF0000]Doc Tee?SDP=#BF0000]Seo?COLLWFSARZLWFSNYYFMan99BALJCLTORJCLTBRLWFSSo just be ready when your team comes up.=#BF0000]At BatOn Deck=#008000]In the Hole

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Can I only take the Nationals when the Mets are in DC? Six KTEs is too many for me.
