Less than a month after those seemingly heartfelt words, Ozzie Guillen was asked a question about the controversy dying down by Sportstalk 610's Paul Gallant in Houston with the Marilns visiting the Astros. You can judge if Ozzie's response to that question is that of a man who has truly learned his lesson and is doing everything in his power to make the situation better. He tells Gallant to "f*cking grow up motherf*cker"...

Carlos Lee rejected a trade to the Dodgers last week but either wouldn't - or couldn't (he had a limited N-T clause) - reject one to the Marlins.
So Lee is off to Miami in exchange for one-time hot 3B prospect Matt Dominguez and another minor leaguer LHP Rob Rasmussen

In order to make room, Gaby Sanchez was (once again) sent down to the minors so I reckon that makes Lee pretty much the full-time 1B dude.
He may also have to take over the spot of #1 power guy as Giancarlo Stanton is having knee problems which may or may not be serious.

*checks* Lee's not bad, but he hasn't really been Carlos Lee since like 2009. His power's been steadily dropping off and that it's Houston, which is a friendlier park than the technicolor dreamcoat.

Caught the first episode of the Franchise tonight. was channel surfing and saw it and figured I'd give it a look.

It's very.. I don't want to say anti-Marlin because it's not quite that. More brutally honest? Season starts with the Ozzie/Castro stuff (And all they say is Ozzie said "I love Fidel Castro", no context at all) and goes into a Heath Bell blowing saves montage. There team president, Samson (former son in law of Loria) seems a wee bit crazy, ran 52 miles at one point for charity.

And there is a lot of Gary Cohen and Ron Darling calls. Ron saying things like "How many meetings has this team had already?" and for some reason the clips of Bell's signing in the beginning take place at Citi Field and has Gary talking about it..

They made out NY fans to be brutal in Reyes' return, which wasn't truthful, but made for better TV I guess. This episode led up to the release of Gaby Sanchez and the signing of Lee. Next week is the All-Star game and Stanton injury.

sorry, those really should've been different points but I couldn't remember specific Samson quotes. The actual act of running for charity was nice, but the character came off a little crazy who happened to be doing it.

One of the prospects - Jacob Turner - is a big-time prospect both in the Tiger system and MLB overall.

Acc to Jonathan Mayo at MLB.com -- The key to the deal, Turner was No. 10 on MLB's Top 100 Prospects list and No. 1 on the Tigers' Top 20 at the time of the trade. He's made a total of six big league starts, with mixed results, but he still has the stuff and size of a future frontline starter. Still only 21, he was slowed this year by shoulder problems. He has a plus sinking fastball he can throw into the mid-90s that gets many a groundball out. His secondary stuff -- a curve and changeup -- is behind the heater, but it has improved. He has a good feel for pitching, especially for his age.

He's still just 28 but has been around for a while now (how many years ago was it he threw that sloppy-ass no-hitter?) and will be a FA after this year - so he's just a partial year rental for Detroit too.
The Tigers have been looking for a 2B for a while so Infante was probably the bigger key to the deal for them and he'll at least be under their control for one more year.
