Or he wasn't ready to face the demons. No audio for this game, sucks.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 This game's on the MLB network, FYI. Some guy named May who plays catcher for my favorite team, the Mets, just scorched one in the gap to score Ike & Bay, who both walked. 2-2.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 Wind blowing out hard to left. He kinda went with it and it kept going. He's a monster, Loewenbru. A skinnier Adam Dunn.Great interview w/ Miguel Batista. He wants to get into sculpting now. "Kill time before it kills me," he says. That guy & Dickey would be great to listen to when they're drunk.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 With the way Frank Francisco looks-- right down to the tight-lipped little pout-- he could change his name to Armandslow Benitez. The Marlins' new third baseman puts all of himself-- for once!-- into a middle-in fastball, and it's beyond the drinkin' deck.

If they don't do Drunk Book Club once every week or two already... well, then someone needs to make this happen.Guys, Keith and Ron are being REALLY effusive about Peyton Manning right now.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Lucas May is rather intriguing. He went two straight seasons with an OPS over .800 in the PCL -- as a catcher -- and never got the call. He slumped badly at the start of last season, and got shipped to the D-Backs system where he rebounded to his regular numbers. Now he's with us on a minor-league deal. I have to assume his glove had something to do with him staying in AAA so long, but he could easily hit his way above Nickeas on the depth chart. Here are his stats:http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=&sid=t541&t=p_pbp&pid=461315
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Do we really think that people are more interesting when they're drunk?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 More easy with the tongue, which is more fun when you have guys who know how to use words and stuff.May? I could give that a roll of the dice.Shaved Chewbacca on to pitch the 6th, pitching to some dude named Mattison, who's got a nasty, dirty-blond handlebar thing on his face. It's like the Sons of Anarchy intramural league here.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 And speaking of which... Now Hatcher is pitching for the Marlins, with a thick handlebar of his own, while Byrdak warms up in the bullpen. Is there some sort of Grapefruit League-wide "Dirty Man" competition going on this spring?

Or at least, the same interesting but more willing to share my interestingness. Really, I think i'm just boring normally, but being drunk definitely has the edge over sober since beer is a passion. Just like how I'm more interesting at Citi Field than I am in the bagel store.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Nee-ven-highs single, Rottino single on a hit-and-run, and Ike walk... we have a one-out stew going for noted slugger Rob Johnson. And the Marlins have another mustachioed guy warming up. I swear to God, the Marlins are just fucking with us.

But LWFS family member Matt Den Dekker makes a nice diving catch of a wind-pushed hooking liner in center to end the Fish eighth.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 (edited) Valdespin chased a WAY outside fastball on a steal attempt (hit-and-run?), and drifted across the plate, lingering in the catcher's throwing lane. And Hank Webb's kid ends it with a punchout.
