Thought we had a thread for random stuff related to the Mets not deserving of it's own thread. No? well then.

Somebody printed the 2012 Yankees schedule to the printer next to me. I wrote in "L" next to all the Mets games

Brian McRae capped a four-run first inning with a two-run single and Rick Reed returned from the disabled list to toss six effective innings as the New York Mets remained hot with a 5-3 victory over the Houston Astros.

I miss the days when baseball teams all had their own unique websites instead of the MLB cookie cutter.

New Web Site Coming Soon!
The New York Mets have teamed up with Major League Baseball's new media company, MLB Advanced Media, L.P., to improve our Web site with richer content and more robust functionality to better connect you with the source of Mets baseball. The new site will be up and running soon, but the full functionality of our Web site will not be complete until the start of the 2001 season. We will continue rolling out new features throughout the year.
Come back in a few weeks to enjoy:
Live game data-casting: Come back on Opening Day to see the improved graphics in our live game data-casting. And as always, get game-day scoreboard, box score, team standings, game summary, 7-day schedule, video highlights, player hitting history chart, game view replay, match ups, lineup, game notes and play-by-play.
Statistics: We're significantly enhancing our stats section with an array of new functions like multi-player comparisons, more in-depth situational splits and exciting visual representations. Of course, we also include traditional stats, like team and league leaders, player and team hitting, pitching and fielding statistics, game logs and standings.
Video Highlights: Beginning in April, enjoy nightly highlight packages from all Mets games, plus a custom search tool that allows you to find the clips you want to see.
Shop: The new Mets Shop will offer one of the widest selections of authentic Mets merchandise on the Web. The Mets Shop will also offers enhanced search capabilities, outstanding customer service, online tracking capabilities and more.
Online Ticketing: This year, purchase Mets tickets online. Our new ticketing section will offer seating and pricing information, game schedule, promotional schedule, special ticket offers, ordering information, season ticket information, directions and parking info, local area information (dining, hotels), ballpark policies, contact information, and ballpark special events.
Fan Forum: We are creating an entire new section for you to connect with other Mets fans. Fan Forum also allows you to sign up for free fan e-mail, check out video baseball bloopers, participate in online polls and more!
The Team: This new section offers information on Mets players and team information including 25-man and 40-man rosters, player indices, player position charts, player profiles, manager/coaching staff rosters, front office directories, major league transactions, injuries and links to current year draft picks.
The Mets are committed to bringing you a Web site with richer and faster content, and extensive new features and functionality. So come back soon to visit our new, improved Web site!

Speaking of schedules...I just printed out the 2012 Mets schedule for my office.

I'm still pretty chuffed about the Mets having only 5 games with the Brewers this season. FIVE?!?

Meanwhile they play 7 against Colorado, San Diego, Arizona, LA, Pittburgh and St. Louis. They play 8 against the Giants and, amazingly, 8 against Cincy...in 3 serparate series (2-game, 3-game, 3-game)!

Will Houston moving over solve any of these problems?

Unless I'm mistaken, I think you're "hacked off." You'd be chuffed, say, about the Mets getting rid of the uni dropshadows this year, or having a GM with a fine sense of gallows humor.

In other news...it doesn't look to me like MLB.TV will be available on a month-to-month subscription this season. Not a big deal...actually, it looks to be cheaper in the long run, but month-to-month always provided me the ability to cancel in August if the Mets were way behind in the standings (although, I think I only wen't through with it one season (2009) when times were tight).

They have changed the subscription to also offer a monthly subscription now. I still opted for the year package as I get the spring games and free access to the Android app. I'm ready for some baseball.

Seriously, I want to hear Monk say chuffed in his Fargo like accent......that's how you talk right? eh?

acting the maggot, can't beat it

My northern-Midwest accent is plainly evident on my "a"s and "o"s, but I'm fairly confident I could pronounce "chuffed" with the best of 'em.

However, I'm pretty sure my rendition of "acting the maggot" would make you smile.

I still think chuffed sounds like chafed and therefore should be something unpleasant. Of course, the first time I heard "bloke" I thought it was an insult.

That's a neat one. Looks like Big Boy Duda in the on deck circle. The name of the thread that you forgot is "The Placards are Terrific".

Didja see the 50th Anniversary Poster with M. Donald Grant on the left and effWilpon on the right? Or how about the one with Ollie Perez on the left and Mike Pelfrey on the right? In heavy circulation in Brooklyn is the subway poster featuring Jackie Robinson on the left and Jackie Robinson on the right.

The first person to photoshop this idea will become an Internet SUPERSTAR.

Does Fred Wilpon ever smile?
(If he does, please spare us the pics until we can get the wimmins and chilluns out of the room.)
