ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Two major league hitters in the lineup..Hope this is not rained out.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Collins said that if Reyes gets two early hits, he'll probably be pulled so for an ovation (goodbye).
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Well, two guys who were big league hitters at the start of the season anyhow. Tejada has turned out to be the jiggs. And Evans is a big league hitter, too, if not a starter. But yeah, this is a springly lineup. I think Harris is the only guy on the card who hasn't played for Buffalo this season.

Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 TransMonk wrote:Collins said that if Reyes gets two early hits, he'll probably be pulled so for an ovation (goodbye).is this his attempt to kiss Jose's ass, to try and help the contract process for the offseason?it's bullshit, but whatever, Yogi. Ted Williams' head is spinning in its freezer.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 A day game , can't even see Jose's possible last turn as a Met.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Wonder also if this will be Wayne Hagin's last game as a Met.(sniff)
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Okay, I'm going to Vegas. seeya. Jose Reyes.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Just read that Francesa will join Howie and Wayne in the booth starting in the fifth........torture til the end.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I believe Ryan Braun now needs three hits tonight to win the title.I like Jose's chances.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Turner runs for Reyes. Lame.I agree with the big purple boo.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 My main interest in this game was to see how Jose would do.Now we're deep into rat's ass territory.
Met Hunter Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Not exactly a Ted Williams move.BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Well rip my stockings! How many of these suckers paid for tickets to this game to see Reyes only to get him pulled in the first inning?Way to punt on first down, JerryTerry!

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I'm embarrassed to be a Met fan today, thank you Terry fucking Collins.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I wonder if any pressure to remove Jose came from 'upstairs' (meaning Wilpons more than Sandy). We've accused this ownership/team of over-caring so to speak about pr moments, round numbers, and the like - which leads one to wonder about whether the quick hook was ordered or at least strongly encouraged on account of having 'a batting champion' being so darn important to someone with some pull.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I wouldn't doubt that FK. How many fans came today to see Reyes and missed his AB?, just terrible stuff.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I'm still kind of disgusted by the pulling of Piazza while he still had another at-bat on the way.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 can't this fucking team do anything fucking right?
