Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Cordero's thrown one pitch over the plate this inning and twice as many as that to the backstop - and he still has an out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Three batters, three walks, plus a balk ... and we're still not close to scoring.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 For God's sake, don't swing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 If Turner swings at the first pitch I want him cut immediately.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Maybe I'm harsh, but that walk might be the only thing Pridie's done well all season.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 He hit a home run once.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Good f'ing Lord.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I've been waiting to hear that.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 holy fuck. its endings like this that almost make me glad the season is coming to a close.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 (edited) Cordero faces five batters, retires one of them, and still doesn't allow a run. Edited September 27, 2011 by Guest
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 On a liner, nonetheless.Maybe we should have squeezed 'em back.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Just saw the box score. Thayer, with the best WHIP and the second best ERA (to Acosta) in the bullpen takes the loss.Ain't no justice.Later

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 My last game of the year. If this was the last game seeing Reyes in a Mets uniform, it was a hell of a way for Jose to go out. Just about everything you could want from the Jose Reyes experience:-Exciting extra-base hits...check-Stolen base...check-Antagonizing the pitcher on the bases...check-Highlight-reel defensive play...check-A little extra panache (the curtain-call)...Check!Lots of love for Jose from the crowd tonight too. You could almost see him gain confidence and play better when there were spontaneous Jose-Jose-Jose chants going. As for the rest of the game? I suppose, given the season, that one final kick to the gonads was in order. Still can't really believe what happened. The scoreboard even put up the "Mets Win!!" graphic for about 5-10 seconds.
