bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 (edited) It's time for my annual look at the Mets wall calendar, the one you see at the calendar kiosk at your local mall. It won't be as mocking as usual because for the first time in three years, everybody on the calendar is still on the team or at least on the roster. This will obviously change but it's not like Beltran or F. Rodriguez is there.http://www.amazon.com/YORK-METS-12X12-WALL-CALENDAR/dp/1436085594/ref=sr_1_114?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1316180568&sr=1-114NiesePaganTholeJohanTerry (you know you're a bad team when the manager gets his own month)IkeR.A.BayGeeMurphyPelfreyWright.No Jose--maybe they know something. Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 they went young this year, but I'm shocked they actually put any thought into it. Or was it just dumb luck that Brad Emaus isn't on it? I'm shocked Reyes isn't there. That's pretty much a gimme and they usually just pick top 12 most popular names and throw 'em up there.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I feel like I've been stared at by Jeff Francoeur all of 2011.

Actually, it's so easy to make a calendar of your own, I feel like a semi-ambitious person/blogger could take some of Michael Baron's images, someone's database of Mets birthdays/historical dates and make a pretty kickass calendar on Shutterfly that people would actually covet.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I only count eleven months. If that's in sequence, I pick Pelfrey (October) as the guy most likely to be gone before his month comes up.

And that's why the thing sells; because of people like us that our friends and family know anything that says Mets on it is a good gift.

He gets excited every time we turn to a new month, then invariably disappointed when I have to explain Castillo/Francoeur/Santana etc
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Is that the Mets official 2012 calendar? Or some licensee's calendar? It's possible that the Mets had no input in the creation of this calendar. By next Spring, there'll be many Mets 2012 calendars on the market.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 So Pelfrey is November? I'd bet a hundred cranes that he'll be an ex-Met well before then.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 No Reyes? That's REALLY surprising.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Is it? Do we have Paddy Power odds on the Mets' ability to bring him back?
