Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 The Mets need to administer a beat down on Mike and send him back to the Minor Leagues.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 Out to mine Minor for base hits:Jose Reyes SSJustin Turner 2BDavid Wright 3BScott Hairston RFJason Bay LFAngel Pagan CFRonny Paulino CNick Evans 1BDillon Gee RHPDuda and Murphy -- compare notes on fielding while sitting.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Should Murphy be sitting, even against a LHP? Or does the need to give Evans a start override that? I'm glad that Hairston is getting a start.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Nick Evans has a need to get a start?

duan Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 minor's getting a very generous strikezone
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 why is Jose being PH for? Light on resources outbhere in the stix
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Light on resources in the booth, too, apparently.HolyshitstoptalkingaboutDillonGee'sBrooklynnumberretirementandtellusifJoseReyesisalive.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Gee works around the fake HBP, real HBP, and blown inning-ending DP (courtesy of de facto SS Carrot-Top) with a tidy strikeout of Gonzalez.Reyes left with a stiff left hamstring. What else?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 So I guess this means we'll see Ruben Tejada called up for tomorrow, all of which probably means ... goodbye again Nick Evans! (boy can't seem to buy a break).Either him or Pridie.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 And for the third day in a row we're just trying to hand Atlanta the game even as their bats are showing no ability to take it on their own.- Two errors which cost three outs, two HBPs, two balls Gee failed to field, a wild pitch, several walks (including the pitcher after 0-2)The Braves' only run (so far) has come on their only solid hit. Every other threat they've had has been handed to them.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Speed kills. The Braves leg out a run to tie the game.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Thrillin' Gee, meanwhile, is a hit machine.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 (edited) Today? More like "BP Juggs machine." Christ. Edited August 7, 2011 by Guest
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Gee is getting bombed by Atlanta in the 5th.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Damn, that inning sucked. Gee gives up 3 runs on a pair of long home runs and then in the bottom half the Mets go down 1-2-3 without even putting a ball in play.I don't get to see the Mets games too often, but they generally don't look to good when I do.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Murphy drives in a run with a swinging bunt down the third base line. Willie Harris follows with a grounder through the infield and the Mets are back within one.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Bay on-base three times today. Willie Harris 2-for-3, with both hits plating Mets.So... Fan Favorite Day today?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 They just seem determined to put Bourn and Constanza on. Is there some kind of walk-the-fast-guys edict that Met pitchers have received from Collins/Warthen today?
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I don't get to see the Mets games too often, but they generally don't look to good when I do.This.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Constanza makes a terrible slide on a SB attempt, and gives a little spike-kick to the outside of Murph's left knee (not the same one as last year... but still). Irish is out.FUCKING Braves games.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 The Mets infield looks like a spring training split squad game.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 If Constanza gets up again, I hope they buzz him for that lousy slide.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Buzz??? Drill, baby, drill. That slide was fucking ridiculous. Poor Murph.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Secondbasiest game in Mets history. They've had four guys playing there already. They lose another infielder, I guess Evans moves over.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Prado goes for a sliding catch in left field and whiffs it. Bay comes in to score. It's all tied up.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Evans rung up on a mid-shin fastball. Hey ump, I think I can squeeze you into my schedule tomorrow.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 3-2, two on, and some funky call right there on Evans... who can't in good conscience let that kind of pitch go by him, really.
