26-3? Is that with or without home runs? Will I catch one if they do hit one?

wait...who's the optimistic mets fan here?

Izzy gets the save (and will keep on getting them till he gets 7 and then gets traded on the day there's supposed to be a celebration at citifield for hitting a milestone...)
Wright goes 0-2 with 1K, 1BB. the other out is a foul popup.

I'll go outside the box and say Byrdak gets Howard or Ibanez for the save.

I'll also go outside the box and say 1-for-2 with a walk and a home run for Sugarpants.

And I'm feeling generous-- Beards for everyone!

The #1 most needed improvement to Citi Field is not a change to the outfield walls but rather a second location (food court behind home plate on the promenade level?) for the Shake Shack.

I'm sure there are lots of good reasons ("scarcity" increasing "popularity" or some such nonsense) why Danny Meyer and the Mets won't do this but it's just stupid. I want a freaking burger without having to wait 3 innings to get it.

They tried before 2010 to do so I think and for whatever reason didn't happen. Maybe a space thing?

My wife usually likes shake shack but doesn't want to brave the line either. I was thinking Tacos tonight maybe. or a Keith's Burger?

They never tried any such thing. They added Blue Smoke and Box Frites to the Promenade Level for 2010. There is no space concern.

talked about? I remember hearing about a second shake shack that never materialized.

Maybe it was just a false rumor based on the other two. *shrug*

If you're looking for a change of pace, the pastrami is really good!

Unfounded rumor, as clearly indicated in the link you provided.

The Fried Chicken sandwich at the home-plate Blue Smoke might be a nice change-of-pace. (Tasty, if a little salty.)

I'm starting to think I've eaten everything good at Citi Field a couple of times by now.

from espn.
Izzy to close (if necessary) on Friday
from ESPN.com - New York Mets by Ian Begley
New York Mets right hander Jason Isringhausen will get the first crack at closing for the Mets, who are employing a closer-by-committee approach to the ninth inning.

Terry Collins said, if the situation presents itself, Isringhausen will close Friday night's game against Philadelphia.

Collins cited Isringhausen's success before the All-Star Break and the raucous atmosphere against the Phillies as reasons why hed choose to go with the veteran on Friday night over Pedro Beato and Bobby Parnell, the other two candidates in the Mets' closer-by-committee crew.

And i'll wait in line for shake shack. grab a beer and a box frittes for the line (wife has to feed me since my hands would be occupied).

Why would raucosity matter? The thought is to go with the vet because he'll be better equipped to deal with loud noises? He's old, so his hearing isn't so good anymore?

I would assume he's referring to "the vet has been under this sort of pressure before" theory.

Terry knows this game isn't at Citizens Bank, right?

Sit Utley might be a more appropriate moniker than Chase.
