Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I would love it if referring to Jos as "The Seven" hit the popular zeitgeist.> The Yankees can't sign The Seven! They've already retired his number!> I know! Waddyagonna do? Dress him 47?! Doesn't work!> Exactly! He's The Seven! It's who he is! His name is his name!> Mis hermanos, viva El Siete!> VIVA EL SIETE!
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Comically overweight TV cop huffing and puffing to super sexy detective"sorry boss, but the kid was gone in a flash like The Seven"

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Since we never got a KTE (at least not yet)Nick Swisher RF -- Slow start, coming on lately. Not only not a real good OFer but he's going to find out that this RF is a helluva lot harder/bigger to cover than the RF in YSIIICurtis Granderson CF -- Fast start but slower June (21 HRs, had 17 at the end of May). Good defense and a definite triples threat in CitiFieldMark Teixeira 1B -- Tied for ML lead in HRsSlappy 3B -- What else is there to say about this schmuck that hasn't already been said? Not a great season by his standards although obviously still dangerous.Robinson Cano 2B -- The MVP awarded him for this season during spring training isn't looking too good right now. Had a tough May, better now.Russell Martin C -- Got off to a hot start but showing his true colors since. We'll see Cervelli at least once this weekend.Andruw Jones LF -- Some power now & then but little else. Only 86 ABs for the year.Eduardo Nunez SS -- More power than Jeter, but less OBP (even now) and lots of errors in a short span.Ivan Nova P -- 'John New'. 15 starts; 7-4; 4.26 ERA; 1.45 WHiP. Held us to 3 runs - although 11 hits - over 6.2 IPs earlier in the year.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Reason #12359 why I love Keith Hernandez:When A-Rod wimps out and gets tagged by Tejada on the basepaths, Keith says, "Where's the purse?"

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Do these guys ever hit the fuckin' ball at someone?!?!Except for the DP that Tejada turned, everything they've hit found a hole.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I want Paulino benched for inexcusable loafing on the bases. I don't care that he's slow; I don't care that he probably would have been out even if he ran as hard as he could. You don't try, you don't play. Make it happen Terry.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Bases loaded for Pagan with two outs in the fifth. If we want to win this game, now is the time.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Overrated director Bill Webb keeps showing MFY fans. SNY shows Jeter commercials. This is a Mets broadcast, isn't it?

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I love that Reyes is so awesome he can keep Cano from scoring from third on a single.
