Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 A man beaten. The once great scamp, now, a study in floppishness. No longer the victory-hungry, innings-eating stallion we've seen in so many ST outings, but a pathetic, park-walking, smacked-around ex-Brave.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Mrs. Fafif and I nicknamed him Beardie during the first series of the year. So bye, bye Beardie. From when I got to ask Terry Collins one question and one question only on a blogger call at the end of Spring Training, I asked what it was like telling a player on the bubble he just made the team:When he told Brad Emaus he was going to be the Mets second baseman, he could see his eyes light up. When he informed Pedro Beato hed be part of the Mets bullpen, there was a sense of oh my god, it was worth all the work and all the bus rides. Blaine Boyers reaction at joining Beato and the other relievers on the major league squad was hed wanted to make teams in the past, but never wanted to make one as badly as this. He really likes being here, Collins reported. Willie Harris, whos been around, was as stoked as any rookie, telling his manager, Skip, I gotta tell ya how much fun its been, and assuring him hell do whatever it takes to be successful.Apparently nothing is worse for your fledgling baseball career than receiving good news from Terry Collins.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 D-Dad was enamored of the concept of a bullpen full of Killer Bees.It didn't work out as well as he had hoped.
