Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Me neither. I think it's too quick a hook.I sense a bullpen implosion.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 It was to go lefty-lefty but now the Braves counter with Chipper PH-ing for Freeman.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Desptie themselves, they're playing a decent game.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Good job, Cap.There's a new hero every day.Starting today.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Assuming the Braves don't score (big assumption, I know) I wonder how the bullpen will be used for the last three innings. My guess: Buchholz, Isringhausen, Rodriguez.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I sure would have double switched and tried to get a few outs out of Capuano.I'm pretty sure Izzy is the number two guy right now. Beato number three and rising.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Dickey on in the 7th with a 2 run lead?I certainly support using starters in relief on their throwing days, didn't expect to see it here, nice!

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Sheesh. This isn't going to be easy.Redundant point, but there was little reason to pull Dickey.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Izzy striking out Hinske like its 1995!
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 In a nutshell, this is why I hate Omar - I'm rooting for a blown save and extra inning just so Frankie doesn't get a GF
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Could have done without that lead-off 4-pitch walk there Frankie ... but he survived.Terry C. had himself a better game than Freddi G did IMO.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 That game had an APPF* of 9.7.I am now missing my chair, but have a bloated feeling.Later* = asshole pucker power factor

His games finished count at this point isn't in the "Danger Zone", and i won't care if the Mets win the division, but certainly if the Mets are out of contention later in the year, this becomes focus #1: rooting for blown saves.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Was that Emaus' last game as a Met?Gee can stay when they send Pelfrey to the minor (I can hope). One of the RPs needs to go when Bay returns to get another bat on the bench. Now for a Rangers win and a Knicks win.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 * Was that Emaus' last game as a Met? -- Doubt it. It's not like CL Hu is knocking down walls either and I don't think they're going to give up on a Rule 5 guy in mid-April, particularly one that Riccardi drafted and now helped re-draft. He's just not going to start as often as many of us (me included) thought at the beginning.* Gee can stay when they send Pelfrey to the minor (I can hope). -- Pelfrey's not getting sent down (I don't even think he can be). Gee can hang around while Young is on the shelf as far as I'm concerned and maybe longer. No one ever considered Gee a "high ceiling" guy as he was rising through the system but it wouldn't be the first time that predictions like that miss.* One of the RPs needs to go when Bay returns to get another bat on the bench. -- Agreed, but the 13-man pen turned out to be almost a necessity in a week where they twice had three games inside a 24 hour window. Of course the expanded pen allowed us to pile up a ton of wins, but maybe it helped preserve a few arms for later on.* Now for a Rangers win and a Knicks win. -- Anything is possible I suppose. Then throw in a Yanqui loss tonight and I'll go break out the good booze.

My modem crashed after the four-pitch walk, and I wasn't able to re-connect until the game was over. I was certainly hoping for a win.Really, it's not like the Mets are unaware of Rodriguez's clause. If he triggers it, either the new management has come to accept it or is just as foolish and hate-worthy as Omar. We really shouldn't get too wrapped up. There's plenty of baseball to play before this comes to a head.I'd like to see Hu get a start or two. Givng him a chance to ge going and Emaus a new persective can only help them both at this point.

(And if Capuano does less well, of course.) Gee would have a much harder time bumping Niese, Pelfrey, or Dickey, obviously. Although Pelfrey should be more vulnerable than he probably is.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I got fucked here. I subscribed to the MLB Extra Innings package with the specific hope that it'd get me the WPIX/non-SNY weekend games I used to get with Time Warner. But alas, they are blacked out.I will be calling FIOS tomorrow to give them a what-for. The fucks.
