The West Michigan Whitecaps are looking for input as to what menu item they should add in 2011. I'm all for Chicks with Sticks, but I suspect that you guys would prefer some of the other options.

Yeah Whitecaps!!!!! This is the team that plays four miles from my home.

I don't eat this stuff -- the publicity is the true purpose after last year's Fifth Third Burger went viral -- but they sell an awesome pulled pork sandwich that I order every time I go to the park.

Like any red-blooded American, I get maple-kissed sausage. Like most any meat-lover, I get the caramelized-onion-and-barbecue-sauce on a nicely-salted burger or thin-sliced grilled steak taste mix. I was raised mostly by the Filipino side of my family, so there's a whole bunch of other funky taste melanges-- salty/bitter/umami, sweet and a little fishy-- I've come to appreciate, if not love.

But that burger on a honey-bun/donut shit? That's just-because-we-can food, not because-it-tastes-good food. I'd BITE it on a dare, but with a near-certainty that it would bite back.

I do see people buying the massive burger. You get a t-shirt if you can finish it. But usually a group of people will buy it and cut it into pieces. A lot of bread.

I don't see how i can go all the the way to Michigan and not have the burger. Of course, I'll be there with my wife who will probably straighten me out. (I don't have a life insurance policy)

No more concession lines at Miller Park?

The Milwaukee Brewers announced Thursday a new partnership that will allow fans to pre-order and pay for concession items from their smartphone.

The system is called Bypass Lane, and is based in Austin, Texas. The app works on Android, Blackberry OS6, Dell mobile devices, iPhone and Palm mobile devices.

Here's how it works: Using Bypass, fans can view full food and drink menus of select concession stands in the vicinity of their seats. They pay for it by using a credit card using Bypass' secure payment platform.

When the order is ready to be picked up, a text message is sent to the fan.

�We are excited to add Bypass Lane to Miller Park,� said Rick Schlesinger, the team's chief operating officer. "This latest technology will provide a convenient and simple way for fans to order concessions without missing the action on the field.�

Fans interesting in using the service can download the app from the iTunes store or the Bypass Lane website. There are four locations on the Miller Park Field Level concourse that will offer the service.

The service will be available beginning opening day.

They tried that out at Citizen's Bank Park last year in September. integrated with the MLB At Bat app. They'res an update coming tomorrow or tonight I imagine, but I think we would've heard if they were doing it locally.

Hooray! Bad planning by the Nationals as they won't be open until "before June."

Some dope at the Washington Post website said that Nationals fans should "boycott New York eateries" at Nationals Park. Good! Shorter lines for us!

writings been on the wall, Citi field was just a wise waypoint on their expansion. I think they have one in Philly now (not the park) and Florida. (checking, Miami, don't see one in Philly, though I remember hearing about it)

In a way, Shake Shack is what 5guys was 10 years ago? Only I think it tastes much better. and they serve beer. and are/were wind powered.
