Young, rather than skipping a start, is being pushed back two days.

Since Jason Bay's return keeps getting pushed back (now it's practically May 1) I hope the Mets aren't still planning on carrying 13 pitchers until Bay is activated.

Give them a day or two to recover from today's doubleheader, and Carrasco's spot start, and then let's get back to 12.

I agree, but I think they were probably looking at the end of April when they made that declaration.

Also, if nobody's going to have the courtesy to get disabled, demoting a pitcher will be a challenge.

FernanDL Martinez placed on the seven-day.

Corresponding move is the activation of the former (for about nine minutes this spring) winner of the secondbase race, Luis Hernandez, from his extended springiness.

Young officially DL'd with the right bicep tendinitis (retroactive to I believe 4/9, which means eligible to return 4/26, Tuesday in Washington)

Misch recalled. not announced as Sundays starter. Still TBA, i imagine they're still considering Gee and Misch is just Carrasco depth.

Bay getting his seasoning in St. Loo, going 1-5 in his first two games back. He's expected to put in two more and return to the team Thursday.

Nixed in Buffalo because they didn't want to subject him to cold.

which is probably good, because it snowed there today and the game was canceled.

I would have preferred they just keep Bay in NY rather than fly him to Florida to play two games.

not finding much sense in that myself , could he not get the same swings in maybe with simulated pitching here in NY?

He'll prolly bump his head on the overhead compartment of one of the plane rides and be out another six weeks with concussion-like symptoms.

I think real life games are important. We saw what happened when Beltran and Castillo came back too fast after the break last year. or Reyes with no Spring.

Simulated pitching here in NY? The other thread says that Philadelphia invented that.

Florida is not a long flight, and the plane tickets are not going to make much of a difference in the Wilpons' overhead.

Actually they sent him back by bus to save costs: The Apple

From Rotoworld:

Bobby Parnell - R - Mets Bobby Parnell has been dealing with an issue with his right middle finger.
Team doctors have told the right-hander that it could be a desensitized nerve, but there hasn't been anything conclusive. Parnell has admitted that the ailment makes it hard for him to grip the baseball, which may help to explain his 6.14 ERA and 1.91 WHIP. He was able to appear in Tuesday's game, but it's not clear if the Mets might shut him down for a few days.

It would seem to be for the best.

I don't see why he just can't use someone else's middle finger. Many fans have been giving him one all year.
