To close out the game, it wasn't exactly a Hallmark moment - SF didn't care enough to send their very best.

Jose Guillen, left of the Giants post-season roster, is being linked in reports to an HGH investigation.

Game 3 is on -- rooting for Texas until further notice so as to avoid a quickie 4 or 5 gamer.

Jonathan Sanchez v Colby Lewis
Do you suppose Colby has a sibling named Cheddar or Muenster?

Heeding the words of Abraham Simpson, January 12, 1969:

"I'm trying to watch the Super Bowl. If people don't support this thing, it might not make it."

Or that anyone has ever missed a Super Bowl game on account of being unable to find it on their TV dial.

No matter who you're rooting for, 2-1 is better than 3-0.

One of the joys of this WS is watching a team like the Giants with a bunch of older players and retreads playing.

Ditto on Buck and McCarver.

Ditto on the announcers and Team Baseball-Frankenstein. Ted Berg of SNY's website said something like that himself a few days ago:

Sabean has compiled and somehow derived solid performances from such a random collection of journeymen that I feel like itll make for great conversation about 20 years from now. Maybe you dont have conversations like this:

Hey, remember Juan Uribe?

Juan Uribe yeah! Kinda chubby guy, had a big year for the White Sox when they won it.

Nah (looking it up on future information device), he kinda sucked that year. But yeah, thats the guy. Didnt he sh

Oh! Wasnt he on that Giants team that randomly won in 2010!?

Yeah he totally was! Hit a big home run for them in Game 1. Hilarious, bro!

And then someone will be like, Who else was on that team? And we will remember Aubrey Huff, Freddy Sanchez, Edgar Renteria, Pat Burrell, Cody Ross, a whole slew of deserving but unspectacular Major Leagues we do not normally associate with the Giants. And we will have a good chuckle.

So true , and really , win or lose Sabean isn't bringing back these guys, except of course he probably will and if not he'll replace them with players as old and as has been.
