seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I'm enjoying the hell out of this.* First he bitched about how the Yankees can't hit Colby Lewis, so I pointed out that Lewis had a better 2010 than anyone on the Yankee staff not named CC or Mariano.* Then he bitched that it was only because he pitches in the worst division in the majors, at which point I reminded him about the O's and Jays.* Then he asked how many runs Lewis gave up, as though that were some indication of suck. He gave up 21 this year; less than Vazquez, Burnett, or Hughes, and only one more than Sabathia.* Then he bitched about starting Marcus Thames against a righty; only Thames was better against righties this year.* Now he's bemoaning the loss of Matsui and Damon, who apparently weren't necessary when they won 95 games this year, but all of a sudden...
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Now let's get Kinsler home.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Jeter hacking at the first pitch. So great. Ten outs left to get.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Is it my imagination or has Jeter grounded out on 3 straight first pitches tonight?I know he has at least twice.

Matsui and Damon were the "heart" this team lacks.I've got bookends with more heart than Damon.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Damn, didn't want a quick inning from Wood because now he can come back for the 7th.If he struggled they'd really be up a creek for the rest of the game.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Lewis cruising, seven outs left.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Ooooo, it's Miss Texas. I'd like to show her my panhandle.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Someone should tell Swisher that having more quotes than hits in a post-season series is not exactly what you want - and that if he wants to kick Cliff Lee's ass looks that he's going to have to wait until next spring sometime.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Michael Kay said on Thursday that if you're a real baseball fan, you want the Yankees to win Game 6 because Game 7's are so great. Don LaGreca said that he hates the Yankees and wants them to lose in 6. Kaye was incredulous. I love baseball, I'm loving this game, and will be very happy if there isn't a Game 7 in this series.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Just got home, but I've been thinking about this all day:For all you oldies music lovers out there:When I read the starting pitchers in this morning's newspaper, I was reading about Hughsie-Lewis in the News. You may now all groan in unison.Later
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Michael Kay can kiss my big, fat CenterStage.Oh, is this fun.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Make. Them. Pay.And pay.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I'll take that. Now I want more.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 You just know FOX and Cablevision want the fucking MFY's in the WS......scum the lot of them.....this game six is way better than the thought of a game seven....fuck you Michael Kay
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Oh, Marcus Thames, nice whiff.I'll root for you someday on another team when the Yankees replace you with somebody more famous and expensive. For now, sit.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 And just in case you're not keeping track, Colby Freakin' Lewis is tossing a 3-hitter here.Granted all three of the hits were for XBs (2B, 2B, 3B) but I'll take it anyway. And his two walks were both erased on the basepaths (CS & GiCP)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Man that Derek Jeter always comes through when you need him .. except, y'know, when he doesn't.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Whiffs the side in the 8th. That's pretty hot.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Jeter waves at strike three like A-Rod at a poorly disguised tranny.
