Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 What suxx is the Rangers are out-hitting the Yanx so far (3 to 2) but aren't bunching their hits and threw in a costly GiDP.Yanx, meanwhile, lumped 2 walks with 3 soft singles and the Rangers contributed by botching three potential throw-outs on the bases (two at the plate) but got none of them.
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I have this fear that not winning game one is still going to bit the Rangers in the ass...
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 dgwphotography wrote:I have this fear that not winning game one is still going to bit the Rangers in the ass...Yup.Safe to say that CJ Wilson doesn't have the same stuff today as Swisher & Cano go back-to-back.5-0 w/no outs in the 3rd.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 The Rangers have shown they can score lots of runs in a short period of time so I'm not giving up on this game yet.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2010 Author Posted October 20, 2010 Rangers continue to out-hit the Yanx (now 11-7) but 5 of the Yanx' are for XBs vs 9 singles for Texas.Doesn't help that they also threw 2 errors and 5 walks into the mix.6-2 Yanx headed for the 7th ... and headed for 3-1/2+ hours again.Washington just brought in a LHP I hadn't seen before. What has he got, like 7 lefties out there or something?Kerry Wood in for CC Slobathia to start the 7th
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Well I guess the series is over now.The Rangers are done for.The Yankees most certainly will hoist World Series trophy #28.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 If the Texas can't take one of two at home to go to the World Series they don't belong there.I hope they do it in Game Six and just get it over with. Theyare the better team.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Thames is one of the worst players I have seen yet he keeps gettings starts for Girardi, and with Posada starting it's more glaring.Watch him hit 3 home runs tonight
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Thames hit alright this year and has some power which makes him kind of a run-of-the-mill DH. And, for the most part, that's pretty much what DHs are these days. Except for Papi and maybe one or two others, the days of the really high-priced slugger in that position are gone. Even vets like Thome & Vlad are on contracts that are way down from their peaks.Of course Thames is really just one of about four MFY DHs. They started with Nick Johnson but he got hurt (surprise!!). Then they went to Thames whenever Posada wasn't hurt or ARod wasn't getting a day off. But that wasn't enough so they traded for both Austin Kearns (who has suddenly disappeared - is he even on the playoff roster?) & Berkman at the trade deadline. Berkman was doing the DHing against RHPs but is now pressed into service at 1B with Teixeira's injury.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 This 1-0 lead is bullshit. Let's go Rangers.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 See? MFYs cheat it right away. Those fucks.I hope Lewis buries the next one in Swisher's face.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Fucking umps are shite.....no one saw that?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Watch that be the fuckup to get the MFY's home safe.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 What happened? I'm not watching the game, as I'm too busy noodging one of my idiotic MFY fan friends on FB.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Hughes has been chased. Gotta get Vlad home here.
